Baekho Begins Military Service: A New Chapter for the NU’EST Star

Baekho, the celebrated former lead vocalist of the popular boy band NU’EST, commenced his mandatory military service on Monday. He has entered the Nonsan Army Training Center located in South Chungcheong Province, where he will undergo foundational military training.

At 30 years old, Baekho, whose real name is Kang Dong-ho, will transition into active duty following this initial training phase. His agency, Prismfilter, opted not to host a public enlistment event, emphasizing the need for privacy and asking fans to refrain from visiting the training center, which accommodates many soldiers along with their families.

A Warm Farewell from Prismfilter

Prior to his enlistment, Baekho’s agency released a heartfelt statement, urging the public to support him during this important phase of his life.“We ask for your warm encouragement and continued love until the day he fulfills his duty to the nation and returns in good health, ”the agency expressed.

Final Public Appearance

On the morning of his enlistment, Baekho made his last public appearance by participating in the MBC FM4U morning radio show “Good Morning FM with Tei.”During the show, he candidly shared his feelings regarding his impending military service.

“I couldn’t sleep well. It feels like I only slept halfway, ”Baekho confided to DJ Tei, adding that thoughts about the upcoming training kept him restless. However, he maintained an optimistic attitude about the physical challenges he would encounter.

While he expressed no concerns about the training itself, he lightheartedly remarked about post-training life: “The only thing that concerns me is that after training, I’d like to go home, shower, and sleep, but they won’t let me go home, ”generating laughter during the segment.

DJ Tei’s Praise

DJ Tei commended Baekho’s mental fortitude for engaging in a broadcast on such a significant day. Baekho explained that he wanted to keep his schedule fully booked right up until his departure, highlighting his dedication to his fans and career.

Career Highlights and New Beginnings
