The March 2024 update for Copilot for Microsoft 365 includes grounded mobile chat and more.

In its latest monthly blog update, Microsoft has revealed several exciting additions to Copilot for Microsoft 365 services. These new features, such as Graph-grounded chat in the Microsoft 365 mobile app, showcase the company’s commitment to enhancing user experience.

According to the latest blog post, the Microsoft 365 apps for iOS and Android have been updated to enable the use of Copilot with a company’s own data. This enhancement enables employees to utilize Copilot to retrieve information from their previous meetings, discussions, and document revisions. Additionally, users now have the capability to create documents using company data through Copilot.

From April onwards, Microsoft will be introducing the new feature of Copilot for Microsoft 365 which will enable users to enter prompts and receive relevant information based on their work content created in Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Microsoft has recently announced that Copilot can now be accessed directly from the Outlook email client by Microsoft 365 subscribers with a work or school account. Additionally, some new features have been incorporated into Copilot in Excel. According to Microsoft:

Now, with Copilot in Excel, you can use the Microphone feature to prompt Copilot verbally, eliminating the need for manual typing. In addition, for fresh prompt ideas tailored to your specific data, now you can select the View Prompts icon to explore the Prompt Guide in the chat pane.

Remember that Microsoft is still designating the Copilot support in Excel as a public preview.

Ultimately, Microsoft’s enhancements to Copilot’s integration with the Loop collaboration tool have resulted in improved functionality. According to Microsoft, Copilot is now more proficient at providing accurate information in response to user inquiries regarding a Loop file, thanks to its improved ability to interpret contextual information on a page.

It was recently announced by Microsoft that the release date for Copilot support for Microsoft 365 in higher education has been postponed from April 1 to May 1.
