In the fascinating universe of Fisch, miners have discovered the labor-saving abilities of Crag Crabs located in the Scoria Reach. These diligent creatures are known to scour the turbulent depths of Scoria volcano, collecting molten rocks in exchange for a lustrous pearl harvested from a Lava Clam. Within this transaction lies the potential to uncover rare gemstones.
However, it’s worth noting that the mining process doesn’t exclusively yield gems; you may also retrieve a fair amount of rubble—some of which you’re likely to have encountered during your lava explorations thus far.
If you’re working towards completing the Scoria Reach bestiary, here’s how you can effectively catch and utilize Crag Crabs.
How to Catch Crag Crabs in Fisch
Although Crag Crabs primarily serve as miners within the Scoria Mines, they also appear as a Secret rarity fish in the general bestiary. To locate them, head to a small abundance spot located just past the entrance of the Scoria Mines. It may require a bit of skillful positioning to land a catch, but this spot is renowned as the most effective location to snag your very own Crag Crab.
How to Send Crag Crabs Mining in Fisch
To initiate the mining process with your Crag Crab, you must first trade it for a pearl. This pearl can be acquired from a Lava Clam, often found in the lava pool near Ashbrook Town.
Just like the regular clams you encounter near Roslit, Lava Clams also drop pearls that vary in rarity upon being caught. The typical pearl from these clams is known as the Sulphur Pearl.
Once you’ve obtained a pearl, make your way to the Scoria Mines via the elevator. Inside, you’ll need to navigate over the bubbling lava to reach the back of the mine, where you will spot the Crag Crabs skittering around in the shadows.
Select a Crag Crab of your choice and present the pearl as an offering. Once it accepts the gift, the Crag Crab will commence its mining duties. After approximately 5 minutes, you can return to collect your treasures (feel free to wander off without affecting the interaction).
When your Crag Crabs return, you could receive the following items:
- Unwanted debris such as Slag, Basalt, and Rocks
- Volcanic Geodes, which can be opened for bait and other fishing resources
- Valuable gemstones and fragments like the Ashen Gem and Cinder Crystal for your bestiary
It’s important to manage expectations, as the likelihood of receiving rare gemstones is relatively low, and the lengthy process of acquiring pearls means patience is key. Nevertheless, this new fishing mechanic offers an engaging twist to your regular gameplay, allowing you to utilize your catches rather than simply selling them off.
