“Tony really begged” – Fans react as ‘WWE-lifer’ sends a pro-AEW message on Dynamite

Fans on Twitter recently shared their reactions to a recent promo by a former WWE Superstar on AEW Dynamite. The individual in question is Adam Copeland, also known as Edge.

Despite achieving great success and becoming a household name in World Wrestling Entertainment, former wrestler Edge made the decision to leave the company and join its rival, All Elite Wrestling, in 2023. He made his debut in October of that year and currently holds the title of AEW TNT Champion.

During the most recent edition of Dynamite, the former WWE Superstar appeared to address CM Punk’s recent remarks regarding the Tony Khan-led organization through a passionate promo. Copeland highlighted AEW’s roster of top-notch wrestlers and their dedication to providing exceptional entertainment.

During a conversation with Ariel Helwani, The Second City Saint expressed doubts about Khan’s leadership and voiced concerns about the work environment within the promotion.

After Dynamite’s most recent edition, numerous fans turned to Twitter to respond to Adam Copeland’s favorable remarks about AEW. One fan even speculated that Tony Khan must have persuaded the former Edge to speak positively about his company.

A fan claimed that AEW reached out to a high-profile former WWE wrestler on its roster and requested them to speak positively about the company.

A Twitter user expressed their belief that Adam Copeland was not the most suitable option for the promo.

After listening to the former Edge’s promo, one fan expressed that they believed it sounded forced.

A Twitter user believed that the promo would have been more logical if it had been delivered by someone like “Hangman”Adam Page.

Booker T Discusses Tony Khan’s Biggest Mistake According to WWE Hall of Famer

In a recent episode of his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T expressed that Tony Khan’s main error as a boss was being overly amicable with AEW talent.

Booker emphasized that the close relationship between former WCW executive Eric Bischoff and top talents appeared to play a role in the downfall of the company.

“I feel like that’s one of Tony Khan’s biggest mistakes, is just being too friendly with the talent. Not that you can’t be friendly with the talent but being friends with the talent can become a problem. It’s just my opinion. I say that because of being in WCW and watching how the NWO and Eric Bischoff and all those guys became like buddies and me personally, I’d sit there watching and I’m like man, this is not something that seems like should be right for a company that’s trying to grow. That was just me. And then when I got to WWE, I saw how my boss worked and it was always business.”

It is the desire of numerous fans for the former Edge to make a comeback to WWE prior to his retirement from the wrestling industry. It will be intriguing to witness whether The Rated-R Superstar will indeed return to the Stamford-based promotion.
