The Rock subtly references Bloodline hierarchy; Roman Reigns caught unaware

During a recent public appearance, WWE Superstar The Rock made a surprising reference to the power dynamics within The Bloodline. This unexpected comment caught Roman Reigns off guard and left him with a stunned expression on his face.

The Samoan duo will be facing off against Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins in a tag team match on Night 1 of WrestleMania 40. If the heroic wrestlers are unable to emerge victorious against Dwayne Johnson and Reigns, then The American Nightmare’s upcoming WWE Championship bout against The Tribal Chief on Night 2 will be designated as a “Bloodline Rules”match.

Prior to ‘Mania, Reigns and The Rock were featured as special guests on NBC’s “The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon.”While speaking with Fallon, the 51-year-old veteran both endorsed and slighted his cousin at the same time, a subtle detail that may have gone unnoticed by some.

According to Dwayne Johnson, there is only room for one top performer in WWE, a position currently held by The Tribal Chief. Nevertheless, The Rock identified himself as The Final Boss and used a tactical hand gesture to position himself above Roman Reigns.

Despite its seemingly innocent nature, the playful jab did not escape the watchful eye of The Head of the Table, who had a surprised expression on his face.

“At the end of the day, as my cousin was saying, there can only be one [top guy], and when there is only one, you have The Tribal Chief and The Final Boss,”said The Rock. [From 09:37 to 09:51]

During their conversation, Jimmy Fallon and The Great One expressed high praise for the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, acknowledging their role in carrying the company for the past few years.

This Saturday marks the official in-ring return of The Rock after nearly eight years. During his recent appearance on NBC’s late-night talk show, Dwayne Johnson discussed the record-breaking gate of Monday Night RAW on April 1st, 2024, and expressed his admiration for Roman Reigns for his contributions to WWE.

“Now that I’m back, and in the grind of it all, as he [Roman Reigns] has been, for years now, carrying the company, things like that [record-breaking RAW gate], you try to stay as present as possible because it moves, and the very next night, you’re at someplace else in a different city. But we had to take a moment last Monday, just to recognize how cool it is that we’re in this position. We both came from wrestling in flea markets and used car dealerships, to making $40 a match to making a little bit more than that. This guy is the champion and times are good,”he said.

It remains to be seen if The Final Boss will betray The Tribal Chief, setting the stage for a highly-anticipated showdown between the cousins at next year’s WrestleMania for the WWE Universe to witness.
