Crimson Desert’s Duskwood features two engaging puzzles, each presenting unique challenges. While both yield significant rewards, including artifacts and Abyss Cressets, the latter serves as a marker for fast travel points across the expansive territory of Pywel. Given the vastness of Duskwood, unlocking these travel points can significantly enhance your exploration experience.
In this guide, we will detail the solutions for the Duskwood Waterside and Duskwood Hill puzzles in Crimson Desert, ensuring you can claim your rewards efficiently.
Solving the Duskwood Waterside Ruins Puzzle
The Duskwood Waterside Ruins, despite its name, resembles a mystical game board rather than a traditional ruin. To access this puzzle, head west from Hernand Town. As you depart the town, trail along the river’s winding path until you spot a cloud icon on your map, indicating the presence of a nearby puzzle or quest.
Approach the foggy area, where you may encounter a bandit camp. You can either engage or bypass the foes. Upon reaching the designated location, even if the “Duskwood Waterside Ruins”quest notification does not appear, you can still proceed with the puzzle.
Your goal in this puzzle is to align five stones of the same color, either black or white, in a row. The quickest method involves maneuvering the black stone, as highlighted, to replace the white stone indicated by the arrow. Within moments, the Abyss pillar will activate, and you can approach it to claim your artifact and Abyss Cresset, thus transforming this area into a fast travel point.
Solving the Duskwood Hill Ruins Puzzle
You can find the Duskwood Hill Ruins puzzle situated further south, positioned midpoint between Alfonso’s estate and the spearmaker’s hut. Similarly to the waterside ruins, this location will be marked by a cloud featuring “mysterious energy”when you’re nearby. Be sure you’ve acquired the “stab”skill from the blue section of your skill tree; to access this skill, navigate one node up from the center and one node to the right.
Utilize the Blinding Flash ability to illuminate the vines enveloping the pedestal and the pillars behind it. You’ll notice a shadowy figure stabbing the pedestal, which indicates how to proceed with the puzzle. Your objective is to adjust the pedestal so that each pillar aligns to the same height as the leftmost one, lighting up as they reach the desired elevation. Completing this during the in-game afternoon may make it easier, as the improved visibility assists in seeing when the pillars activate.
The pedestal contains several holes; face one and use the stab maneuver to insert your sword, serving as a lever. Note that clockwise movements are necessary unless you must adjust to lower a pillar.
Begin at the back of the pedestal, with the hole facing the pillars. Rotate it until the second, third, and fourth pillars are just slightly lower than the first. Shift to the front right of the pedestal and continue adjusting until the second pillar lights up, making the last pillar equal in height to the third and fourth pillars.
Finally, interact with the hole at the back and continue rotating until the last three pillars illuminate. Precise alignment isn’t necessary; once activated, the game will equalize their heights.
Upon completion, a brief cinematic will play, illuminating the altar, allowing you to finally retrieve your Abyss Cresset.
