OLED iPad Pro Launch Nearing in as Model Number For Devices Have Been Discovered in Regulatory Database

According to a prominent analyst, Apple is expected to launch its iPad Pro models with OLED display in early May. Although rumors previously suggested a release by the end of last month or in April, it seems that the company has decided to delay the launch once again. Recent reports indicate that the upcoming OLED iPad Pro models have already been listed in Indian regulatory listings, hinting at a potential launch next month.

OLED iPad Pro Launch Imminent: Regulatory Filings Reveal

The 91mobile website discovered the iPad Pro in the regulatory listings and it also appeared on the Bureau of Indian Standards database. The model numbers, A2836 and A2837, are unique and do not correspond to any of the company’s current iPad models. This indicates that the model numbers belong to a completely new device.

Even though Apple is expected to unveil new versions of the iPad Pro and iPad Air, it is possible that the model numbers mentioned above do not correspond to the ‘Pro’ models. The company is likely to announce both the iPad Pro and iPad Air at its upcoming May event, but the two additional model numbers were not found in any regulatory filings.

Last year, Apple did not release a new iPad, resulting in a considerable decrease in the company’s earnings. It seems that the company is facing difficulties in introducing new iPad models, possibly due to challenges in their supply chain. Previous reports have also suggested that the delay is caused by the incorporation of new OLED panels and the complicated manufacturing process, which is resulting in lower yields.

At present, Samsung and LG are both supplying Apple with 11-inch and 13-inch OLED panels. It has been revealed that Samsung is facing challenges in producing the 11-inch OLED displays, leading to an increase in business for LG Display from Apple. It is yet to be determined how the distribution of orders has been decided between the two suppliers, but this could explain the delay in the release of the OLED iPad Pro from March to May.

It should be mentioned that the company may choose to unveil new models of the iPad Pro and iPad Air at its WWDC 2024 event. This is because the devices are currently expected to launch in May, one month prior to the start of WWDC 2024. However, the discovery of regulatory filings for these devices serves as evidence that the OLED iPad Pro is nearing its release. As soon as more information becomes available, we will provide updates.
