Microsoft adds a way to trim videos for presentations in PowerPoint on the web
If you enjoy incorporating videos into your PowerPoint presentations, you may occasionally encounter the issue of your uploaded clip being shortened at the start, end, or both. Fortunately, PowerPoint on the web now offers a feature that simplifies the process of trimming videos.
According to the post on the Microsoft 365 Insider blog, the PowerPoint web app now includes updated video trim capabilities, as described by the company.
You can trim videos using frame or timestamp level accuracy, and preview them and fine-tune them until you achieve the perfect and precise outcome.
To make it easier to access the feature, we have also added a dedicated Video tab in the ribbon. The tab contains all the commands related to adjusting and formatting your videos, such as changing the video style, arrangement and more.
Users of PowerPoint for the web have the ability to create a new presentation or access a previously saved file. They can then upload and insert a video into the presentation and open the Video tab within the app. From there, they can click on the Video option and choose Trim Video. Another option is to right-click on the desired video and select Trim Video from the menu.
To trim the video, simply use your cursor to adjust the endpoints within the colored frame to your desired starting and ending points. For even more precise trimming, you can also use the time stamp selections and arrow keys.
By simply clicking on the Play button, you can preview the trimmed video and ensure that it starts and ends as desired. Once you are satisfied, click the Trim button to finalize the process. It should be noted that Microsoft has stated that this feature is only applicable to both local and stock videos.
