Major WWE star (not Drew McIntyre) ending Seth Rollins’ World Heavyweight Championship reign is possible, thinks veteran

According to experienced wrestler Matt Morgan, there is a possibility that Damian Priest could use his Money in the Bank contract to defeat WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins and become the new champion at WrestleMania XL.

The Visionary is scheduled to defend their title against Drew McIntyre on Night Two of this year’s Show of Shows. According to recent reports, the Scottish Warrior’s current WWE contract is set to expire soon and they have yet to sign a new deal. This has led to doubts about whether they will be able to end Rollins’ World Heavyweight Championship reign.

During an appearance on the Gigantic Pop podcast, Matt Morgan concurred with his co-host Raj Giri’s proposal that if McIntyre does not renew his contract, he should be defeated by Rollins before Damian Priest, the current holder of the Money in the Bank briefcase, cashes in on him at WrestleMania.

“[I think if Drew doesn’t re-sign, that would be my most logical ending that Seth wins and then Damian Priest cashes in.] Good call. If he doesn’t really sign, that’s a great alternative actually,”he said. [From 40:05 to 40:15]

Can Drew McIntyre reclaim the WWE World Title after four years?

Drew McIntyre’s most recent World Title reign was four years ago, lasting 96 days as the WWE Champion. In October 2020, at Hell in a Cell, the Scottish Warrior was defeated by Randy Orton and lost his title.

During the same installment of Gigantic Pop, Matt Morgan made a prediction about the outcome of McIntyre’s championship bout against Seth Rollins at WrestleMania XL. He expressed his belief that the 38-year-old will find a path to victory.

“Drew wins somehow,”he said.

Despite his ongoing feud with The Visionary for the World Heavyweight Championship, Drew McIntyre has also sparked a rivalry with CM Punk. Unfortunately, during a confrontation at the Royal Rumble, CM Punk sustained an injury. However, the Best in the World is still scheduled to provide commentary during Drew McIntyre’s title match against Rollins at the highly anticipated Show of Shows.
