Kingdom Come: Deliverance II Achieves 5 Million Sales in Its First Year

Embracer Group Reports Significant Success for Kingdom Come: Deliverance II

This morning, the Embracer Group published its Q3 FY 2025/26 financial results (covering October to December 2025), showcasing impressive figures for Warhorse’s Kingdom Come: Deliverance II. In just under a year since its launch, the game has surpassed five million units sold.

Game Launch and Performance

Launched on February 4, 2025, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II has maintained a strong market presence for approximately a year and eight days. This success can be attributed to its immersive game world, which is intricately designed with captivating quests that engage players of all kinds. Building upon the foundation laid by its predecessor, this sequel enhances existing systems while adding new layers of complexity and storytelling.

Free Updates and DLC Impact

Over the past year, players have benefited from free patches and additional content through three premium downloadable content packs (DLCs), with the final pack titled Mysteria Ecclesiae standing out for its remarkable impact on sales. This DLC contributed significantly to the game’s performance, helping it to exceed the Embracer Group’s sales projections.

Overall Financial Landscape

In the same financial report, it was noted that the Dead Island and Tomb Raider franchises also surpassed revenue expectations during the quarter. However, Embracer Group faced challenges as net sales dipped by 26% year-over-year, coupled with an 8% decline in organic growth. These setbacks were largely due to unfavorable foreign exchange rates and the divestiture of Easybrain within the mobile gaming sector.

Looking Ahead

Despite these hurdles, Phil Rogers, CEO of Embracer Group, expressed optimism about the company’s strategic direction. The focus is shifting towards enhancing core IPs, including Tomb Raider, Dead Island, Kingdom Come: Deliverance, and The Lord of the Rings. Furthermore, there are ongoing efforts to streamline operations, aiming for improvements in both operating and capital expenditures while achieving consolidation goals, especially following the recent sales of Arc Games and Cryptic Studios. There is a hopeful anticipation that these decisions will not lead to workforce reductions.
