Kingdom Come Deliverance 2: Lion’s Den Walkthrough
Waiting for Samuel in The Lion’s Den
To kick things off, head over to the Devil’s Den and engage in conversation with Zizka. He’ll inform you that Samuel has yet to return from Kolin. If you’ve postponed The Devil’s Pack, this is a great opportunity to gather the gang and complete some side quests. Alternatively, you can use the time change menu to advance time until Samuel shows up. Once he’s back, return to Zizka to propel the quest forward.
Zizka will suggest the best course of action is to infiltrate Sigismund’s camp, and you’ll need Katherine’s assistance. Before progressing, you can also interact with Hans to activate a side quest that offers a unique hunting bow—an excellent reward for archery enthusiasts.
Meeting Katherine and Gaining Enlistment

Travel to Sigismund’s camp and locate the bath tent at the northern endpoint. Wait until after 9 p.m.to enter and speak with Katherine. She’ll prepare a bath and share crucial intel about the camp, such as the location of the cannon and information on potential spies. Don’t hesitate to ask her all your questions before wrapping up this insightful conversation.
Katherine suggests enlisting in Sigismund’s army as your next step. Approach Stephen Crow—players have noted that if you participated in the tournament beforehand, an additional dialogue option may help in convincing him to allow your enlistment. However, if you haven’t, the enlistment process remains relatively manageable. Henry can showcase his skills as a smith, alchemist, or warrior to persuade Crow. Alchemy and blacksmithing checks are the least challenging, both classified as “medium” difficulty, although Crow may still need convincing after your success. If Crow remains skeptical, claiming you’re in need of funds may ease his concerns.
After Crow agrees, you’ll need to meet the Prague captain, Katz, to seek out missing soldiers and the charter they were transporting to establish your credibility.

Before your quest for the charter, talk to Katherine once more to learn about a potential stalker, which will initiate The Stalker side activity. Utilizing your dog, Mutt, can expedite this while ensuring you have Katherine’s assistance later, as you’ll need her help in a time-sensitive segment of the quest.
Connecting with Musa and Reviving Myshek

If restoring Myshek is your goal, meet Musa at the infirmary. Should you pass an alchemy check, Musa will permit you to attempt healing him using a Strong Cockerel Potion, which necessitates precise ingredients:
- Spirit base
- 2 valerian
These can be sourced from Pschitoky’s apothecary if you’re low on supplies. Myshek won’t perish while you gather materials, and upon your return with the potion, he will direct you towards Old Lhota in southern Kuttenberg—a place indeed indicated by your quest marker, ensuring a safer path to your objectives.
Locating the Soldiers and the Charter

Journey south to Old Lhota and engage with locals to uncover that deserters are concealed in a nearby building. You can either negotiate for the charter or prepare for a confrontation. It’s advisable to consume some Savior Schnapps in case of unforeseen circumstances, as persuasion is typically less daunting than going toe-to-toe with a group of soldiers. If dialogue fails, consider night-time stealth for charter retrieval; the painted chest within the complex will serve your needs.

In the event that you resort to violence, acquiring the charter can still be achieved by simply taking it from the chest, especially if you’ve secured the keys from the soldiers.
Investigating the Murder

Upon returning the charter to Katz, you’ll be awarded with a new frock, some groschen, and an invitation to a dice game. However, the game is abruptly interrupted by news of an attack on Chertan, prompting Katz to request your investigative services while he’s incapacitated.
You have the option to gather comprehensive evidence or simply secure the one crucial piece to advance the story. A thorough investigation entails examining installations surrounding the attack, such as:
- A pool of blood near a cart
- A lockpick
- A picked lock close to the shed
- The cannon
In proximity to the green tent, investigate for:
- A bloodied tub
- A nearby dagger
- Items under the bed (in the green tent)

Upon examination, you’ll discover a lock leading to a nearby chest. Unlock this to find Lord Borumlaca’s Bond, revealing instances where Grozav owed money to Chertan. Report these findings back to Katz and learn of Chertan’s unfortunate demise—an event that becomes less shocking with the amount of blood you uncovered.
In a moment of racial prejudice, Grozav accuses Musa of poisoning Chertan. During this discourse, you will face two timed responses:
He poured one of his pagan potions down his throat
- Stay silent
- What the hell are you talking about?
- Why would Musa do that?
Choosing silence or questioning him keeps the discourse alive.
But what was unusual was that he started vomiting blood. And then he died
- Stay silent
- Couldn’t you just have given him the wrong treatment?
- The wine killed him! (hard alchemy check)
While the alchemy check provides a solid option, it doesn’t alter Grozav’s stance. Ultimately, advocate for Musa and inform Katz of the necessity to support Musa. Be mindful that you have limited time—specifically two in-game days—to gather evidence in favor of Musa’s name.
Consulting Musa

When approaching Musa, have a few strategies in mind. You can persuade the guard for entry—a hard check is necessary, or alternatively, engage in stealth, eliminate the guard, or enlist Katherine’s assistance. In most cases, stealth or Katherine’s distraction proves to be the simplest approach. Should you have already completed The Stalker side quest, Katherine will aid you promptly. After your successful engagement, assure Musa that you will determine the poison utilized in Chertan’s murder.
If your alchemy skills exceed 25, you can volunteer to analyze Chertan’s body to compare your findings with Musa’s poison reference. Failure doesn’t end the quest; Musa will guide you regardless, but you will still need to interrogate witnesses to unveil the true poison user.

Your suspects may include Crow, Grozav, Katz, and two guards, as they were the only individuals with access to the powder store.
Final Investigations and Defending Musa
Prioritize the poison investigation. Thoroughly inspect Chertan’s body, exhaust all investigation options, and analyze Musa’s almanac. Once you’ve gathered enough information, report to Musa and assert:
I think I know what Chertan was poisoned with
The accurate antidote is identified as Kiss of Death, and upon your confirmation, you’ll earn a reputation boost with Musa. Weigh your response carefully when questioned about your intentions—lie, deflect, or express trust. The choice largely depends on your playstyle, as Musa is ultimately trustworthy.

After interacting with the guards, further investigate the tents of Crow and Grozav. Nighttime remains the most pragmatic option for uncovering their secrets, especially as rummaging through their possessions won’t raise any alarms. Crow’s tent offers ingredients present for brewing Kiss of Death, whereas Grozav’s contains a skill enhancement book. You can also interrogate them during daylight, although the checks will be challenging. Focus on Crow’s tent for critical evidence.

Once the two-day limit is reached, prepare yourself for Musa’s defense, either by completing quests or leveraging the in-game time tool to advance the clock.
Defending Musa in Trial

When the time arrives, approach Katz to initiate the trial. Assert that “Musa is innocent”rather than remaining silent, followed by these key statements:
- He was with us during Chertan’s stabbing (you can also attempt the high speech check for more impact)
- Corporal Stephen Crow’s name should be mentioned
- Chertan witnessed Crow while he was pilfering powder
- Crow poisoned the wine before our arrival
This testimony could lead to Crow’s downfall, or alternatively, you may implicate Grozav to retain Crow for future missions.
Once you’ve verified Musa’s innocence, confirm your interaction with Katherine to move the storyline along, gearing up for an imminent skirmish with Praguers. Defeat them to conclude the quest.
Unmasking the Killer

If you noted details throughout the quest, it’s revealed that Stephen Crow is the true killer. However, you may choose to frame the innocent yet racially biased Grozav for the crime, which would ensure Crow’s assistance in upcoming battles.
Framing with False Evidence
Upon confirming Crow as the culprit, you can negotiate with him to plant misleading evidence against Grozav. Once you agree with Crow’s plan, place belladonna in Grozav’s tent and wait for the trial to unfold.
Keep in mind that framing Grozav has no bearing on quest progression; you could easily pin the blame on him during the trial without engaging with Crow beforehand.
