Foraging may not seem closely tied to the various hobbies in Heartopia, but it plays an essential role in unlocking the game’s full culinary potential, particularly when it comes to discovering every recipe. Although players will be busy cultivating fruits and vegetables from their own gardens, many valuable resources can still only be acquired through foraging, including mushrooms, which can exclusively be found in the wild.
The recent Dreamlight Cinematics Festival, marking the second major content update since the game’s launch in early January, introduces new harvestable plants across Heartopia’s map. Each outer biome now features a unique variety of wild vegetables, invaluable for whipping up the celtuce tacos that are part of the season’s fresh cooking recipes. Keep reading to learn how to locate tall mustard, fiddleheads, burdock, and mustard greens throughout Heartopia.
Exploring Wild Vegetable Locations in Heartopia
The Dreamlight Cinematics Festival brings four distinct varieties of wild vegetables to Heartopia: Tall Mustard, Fiddlehead, Burdock, and Mustard Greens. Each of these wild vegetables can be discovered in one of the four unique regions of the outer map, aligning with the game’s structure.
Each of these wild vegetables contributes to the preparation of one of the four taco variants made with celtuce available during the festival. It’s important to note that their recipe names may not directly correspond with the ingredients, so we will clarify the specific harvestable required for each recipe.
Finding Tall Mustard in Heartopia
Tall Mustard is native to the Onsen Mountain area of Whale Island, specifically found in the Ruins sub-area.
By completing special jigsaw puzzles available for purchase from Azure, players can increase the locations where Tall Mustard can be found, however, this wild vegetable remains exclusive to Onsen Mountain.
When harvesting Tall Mustard, you’ll recognize their pale yellow or white flowers sprouting from leafy beds. Upon collection, they take on the appearance of large watercress-like leaves.
This vegetable is essential for creating Wild Garlic Mustard Celtuce Tacos, despite the slightly misleading name for the recipe.
Locating Fiddleheads in Heartopia
Fiddleheads can be discovered in the Forest region of Whale Island, with an initial spawn point located within the Deer Tower sub-area.
Similar to Tall Mustard, completing jigsaw puzzles from Azure can enhance the locations for finding Fiddleheads, but they remain exclusive to the Forest.
These wild ferns are typically found near the water’s edge, but can also be harvested from various other spots around Deer Tower. Once collected, their distinctive green, curly leaves make them easily identifiable.
While the name might seem unrelated, Fiddleheads are crucial for crafting Wild Bracken Celtuce Tacos.
Searching for Burdock in Heartopia
Burdock is located in the Flower Field region of Whale Island, specifically in the Whale Mountain sub-area.
By completing Azure’s unique jigsaw puzzles, players can discover additional Burdock farming spots, though it is predominantly found in the Flower Field.
Burdock nodes resemble purple-tipped seed pods rising from thick beds of leaves. After harvesting, the burdock resembles clusters of sticks akin to cinnamon.
As the name implies, Burdock is essential for crafting Wild Burdock Celtuce Tacos.
Harvesting Mustard Greens in Heartopia
Mustard Greens thrive in the Fishing Village region of Whale Island, particularly in the Lighthouse sub-area.
Completing jigsaw puzzles can help uncover further Mustard Greens farming locations, though they primarily appear in the Fishing Village.
Mustard Greens can be identified by their clusters of yellow flowers emerging from a leafy bed, resembling long, dark green leaves once harvested.
The name gives a clear indication that Mustard Greens are crucial for the creation of Wild Mustard Greens Celtuce Tacos.
