A new animated short from HoYoVerse delves into the fascinating backstory of Skirk, a character from “Genshin Impact”.This anime-style presentation offers insights into her origins and features cameos that reveal interactions with key characters prior to her becoming a playable unit in the game.

The introduction of Skirk in this anime short begins with her being selected by Surtalogi: The Foul. He indicates that she is to be sent to the world of Teyvat, acknowledging the power the Descenders hold in potentially altering the course of fate. However, he distinguishes her as a “trespasser”rather than a true Descender, as he is responsible for her arrival. This sequence depicts her descent like a shooting star, with characters from Fontaine, including Furina and Neuvillette, observing her fall.
As the plot unfolds, Surtalogi instructs Skirk to “walk his path, ”indicating her need to confront powerful foes. He also emphasizes that Teyvat is not her true home. Following this, viewers are treated to glimpses of Skirk’s encounters with various characters, such as Klee’s mother, Alice, and notable figures like Dainsleif and Childe (Tartaglia).Additionally, we witness her engaging in numerous battles against a variety of adversaries.

Looking ahead to her gameplay mechanics, Skirk is poised to debut as a Cryo character wielding a sword for her attacks. Her signature move, the Havoc: Warp Elemental Skill, channels The Foul’s powers. Notably, her Havoc: Ruin Burst does not rely on Elemental Energy; instead, it functions independently, influenced by the Serpent’s Subtlety earned from her Skill.
“Genshin Impact”is playable on multiple platforms including PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, PC, and mobile devices. The eagerly anticipated update 5.7 is scheduled for release on June 18, 2025.
