MIO: Memories in Orbit invites players to step into the role of Mio, a small robot navigating an abandoned spacecraft where life once flourished. However, the ship now drifts aimlessly in the void of space, its once-throbbing heart silent.
Upon beginning your exploration of the vessel, it quickly becomes apparent that most of the former companions have fallen into disrepair, leaving you isolated. Fortunately, in the Dwellings area, you encounter a benevolent character who reveals the existence of survivors in Metropolis. Regrettably, access to this area is obstructed by a door locked from the other side. This guide outlines how to access the Metropolis in MIO: Memories in Orbit.
Accessing the Metropolis in MIO: Memories in Orbit

To gain entry to Metropolis, you must first unlock the door by accessing it from the opposite side. Begin your journey by acquiring the Hairpin skill, which allows Mio to hook onto the green crystals scattered throughout the ship.
Next, make your way to The Spine level using the elevator. Instead of descending as you did while obtaining the Hairpin skill, proceed to the left until you find Mel or reach the area where you originally encountered her.

With the Hairpin skill now in your possession, you can ascend further. Continue climbing until you reach the locked door of the Metropolis on the opposite side. Don’t forget to open the door before moving forward.

Upon entering through the next door, you’ll encounter Acat, the formidable boss standing between Mio and Metropolis. Defeat this adversary, and proceed to the left.

Look for a Torn Overseer in the Dwellings area. You can aid it in mending, and watch as it takes flight. While its immediate significance may not be apparent, this action proves valuable later on.

Continue your journey by heading left and free-falling down until you locate another pathway leading left again.

Eventually, you will arrive at the Metropolis Central Gate. To your left, an overseer dock awaits—this allows you to update your map with your latest findings.

If you need direction on where to go next, you can head back to Shii by moving right. Look for a downward pathway that creates a shortcut to the square room.

Additionally, if you haven’t yet explored fully, ascend before falling down to discover the spiky glacier. Collect the item on the spike, then continue heading right to unlock yet another shortcut. This will connect to the room where you previously rescued Rad.
