As November 2025 draws to a close, Microsoft has once again provided an overview of the latest enhancements introduced in Excel throughout the month. This mirrors their recent summary for Teams, where they outlined an array of new functionalities for the collaboration platform.
This month, the tech giant from Redmond announced a total of four noteworthy features for its widely-used spreadsheet application, applicable across various platforms. Starting with Windows, two significant updates have been rolled out. The first is an upgraded version of **Agent Mode** tailored for organizations operating at the forefront of innovation. Microsoft defines these “Frontier” organizations as those leveraging cutting-edge AI technologies to foster scalable growth.
With the updated Agent Mode, users can now source information directly from the web, utilizing the power of web search and integrating Anthropic’s Claude AI models, though this feature is currently limited to Beta Channel Insiders on Windows. General access and support for Mac users are expected in the near future. Another important enhancement for Windows users is the improved Get Data dialog, designed to streamline the data import process significantly.
The next feature brings added convenience for users on Windows, the web, and iOS platforms: comment previews on secured files are now accessible directly through email notifications. This addition, labeled as “#FIA”or Feedback in Action, is a result of ongoing customer feedback and addresses a long-standing request from Excel users.
Additionally, there is an exciting update specifically for users of iPhone, iPad, and Apple Vision Pro who are part of the Insider program. These devices now benefit from a visually appealing Liquid Glass styling in the Excel app, alongside a new search experience positioned conveniently at the bottom of the screen, aligning with the design language introduced in iOS 26.
