This move enables the company to retain the revenue generated thus far and eliminates any royalty obligations previously owed to Leenzee Games. A press release indicated that WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers experienced impressive commercial performance, hitting the top position on Steam’s Global Top Sellers chart before its launch and attracting an impressive 130, 000 concurrent users on launch day.
Strong Sales Showcase Potential for a Sequel
Since its debut last year, WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers has sold over 1 million copies, as of March 31, 2026. This impressive figure revives hope among fans for another installment, especially since previous reports suggested that interest in a sequel had significantly diminished when Leenzee struggled with internal conflicts regarding the game’s direction.
Inter-Team Disagreements at Leenzee
News from earlier this month indicated that the division between the game’s director and the studio’s leadership led to the dismantling of the core development team. As per the reports, while the director was eager to embark on a sequel, the management favored transitioning the studio towards a support role rather than pursuing internally developed titles. This rift ultimately resulted in the dismissal of the game’s director and the reassignment of the rest of the development team into different roles within Leenzee.

With the acquisition of the WUCHANG IP by Digital Bros.and 505 Games, the possibility arises for the original development team to reunite and potentially work on a sequel. At the very least, there is hope that they can find another capable team to take on the challenge of continuing the series.
