Bungie, in partnership with NetEase, has officially announced that Destiny: Rising, the alternate-timeline mobile edition of the esteemed Destiny franchise, will be released on both iOS and Android platforms on August 28, 2025. This innovative title aims to bring the captivating Destiny universe into the palms of players’ hands.
What to Expect from Destiny: Rising
Initially unveiled in October of last year, Destiny: Rising features beloved characters from the Destiny lore. However, unlike its predecessor Destiny 2, this mobile-exclusive title does not extend the story currently explored in the franchise. Set in an alternate timeline, it presents fresh lore alterations for characters while introducing notable gameplay adjustments, such as the absence of a character customization feature.
Character Choices and Customization
In Destiny: Rising, players will select from a lineup of pre-designed heroes from the franchise, including well-known figures like Ikora Rey and Iron Lord Jolder. However, a new character named Wolf will also be available, offering players a chance to experience a “fully customizable Lightbearer, ”as highlighted in the recent press release.
