TWICE’s Dahyun to Miss Upcoming Concerts in Taipei Due to Injury
In a recent announcement, JYP Entertainment confirmed that Dahyun, a member of the popular K-pop group TWICE, will not participate in the highly anticipated “THIS IS FOR”concerts scheduled to take place in Taipei from March 20 to March 22. This decision stems from her ongoing recovery from a stress fracture in her ankle.
Details of the Injury
Dahyun began experiencing ankle discomfort during the group’s world tour, which prompted a visit to a medical facility. There, she received a diagnosis of a stress fracture, as reported by Soompi. Since then, she has undergone treatment, which includes the use of a brace and a supportive half cast.
Absence from North American Shows
Prior to the Taipei concerts, Dahyun was already unable to perform during the North American leg of the tour, which took place from February 13 to March 7. JYP Entertainment had previously noted that the decision to sit out various performances was made based on medical advice calling for ample rest and ongoing care, as detailed by Chosun.
Focus on Health
The agency highlighted that the choice for Dahyun to miss the Taipei concerts was reached after thorough consultations with both her and medical experts. They emphasized that resuming intensive choreography before her full recovery could risk exacerbating her injury, thus prioritizing her health over the tour schedule.
Future Plans and Fan Support
Looking ahead, JYP Entertainment stated that Dahyun intends to rejoin the world tour once she has fully healed and regained her strength. The agency also conveyed heartfelt apologies to fans eagerly anticipating her performance in Taipei, thanking them for their unwavering support as reported by allkpop.
“THIS IS FOR”World Tour Overview
The “THIS IS FOR”project represents TWICE’s latest album, which accompanies their ongoing world tour. This release showcases new tracks that embody the group’s distinctive pop sound and performance-oriented music. The album serves as a crucial component of the tour’s setlist, featuring key songs and B-side tracks that enhance performances worldwide.
This initiative marks a continued effort by TWICE to expand their reach into global markets, enabling them to connect with fans across Asia, North America, and beyond through an array of new music and large-scale concert events.
