The Equilibrium Dungeon in Destiny 2 introduces an intriguing quest named The Way Between. Players are tasked with solving complex puzzles during their dungeon runs to unlock relics, which subsequently grant a formidable bonus for the Praxic Blade and other rewards.

In total, there are four relics to collect. Below, we detail the whereabouts of each relic, how to obtain them, and the respective rewards upon completion. If you find yourself stuck on locating the relics or navigating the puzzle encounters, this guide will offer the assistance you need.

How to Access the Inner Temple and Retrieve the Relic in Equilibrium

Step 1: Enter the Inner Temple to Retrieve Your Artifact

Once you successfully complete the initial run of the Equilibrium Dungeon, defeating Dredgen Sere will reward you with a relic. You will then need to re-enter the dungeon. Proceed to the initial encounter area, Harvester, where the expansive Inner Temple is located.

Approach the Inner Temple stairs; you will find the previously closed door open. Inside, place the relic on the altar on your right to trigger dialogue and advance to the next phase of your quest.

Discovering the First Artifact in Equilibrium & Associated Rewards

Step 2: Locate the Secret Artifact During the First Encounter

The first relic becomes available after you defeat the Harvester. Instead of boarding the ship, return to the Inner Temple. A path to the right will now reveal a Taken blight that can be eliminated with the Praxic Blade, initiating a trial encounter.

In this trial, aim to destroy the Forgotten Eyes to enhance your Gathering Shadow buff and achieve the Shadow Master level, which will extend your In Shadow timer. Should the timer reach zero, you will be required to restart the trial by heading back to the initial Takens blight.

Your goal is to utilize the Shadow Power ability to disable the Taken Captain’s shield, allowing you to defeat him. Once eliminated, clear the smaller Taken blight that appears afterward using the Praxic Blade.

With the Taken shield down, utilize your Sparrow to progress further. Continue shooting Forgotten Eyes to prolong both Shadow Master and In Shadow timers. As you reach a large open space, ensure you defeat all remaining Taken enemies. Activate the Shadow Master buff, utilize the Shadow Power on the Taken Captain, and destroy the blocking Taken blight with your Praxic Blade.

Advance further until you face the final encounter where you will once again need to acquire the Shadow Master buff and vanquish the remaining Taken enemies along with the shielded Taken Captain. After eliminating all foes, strike the Taken blight on the left wall, and then hit the battery panel with Taken energy to unlock a room on your left, revealing the relic.

This relic must be charged by completing the Equilibrium Dungeon, and upon your return to the Inner Temple during your next run, you will gain the Offensive Form for the Praxic Blade.

Locating the Second Artifact in Equilibrium & Its Rewards

Step 3: Find the Second Secret Artifact During the First Traversal Encounter

The next relic requires you to reach the first traversal section post-Harvester encounter. Continue along the path toward the initial boss, shooting the blue fuses to open the hangar doors to outer space. The door adjacent to the two fuses will open; destroy the nearby Taken blight to trigger the next trial.

In this trial, you’ll again focus on gathering Gathering Shadow by destroying Forgotten Eyes to enhance the In Shadow timer. Once you’ve become Shadow Apprentice, you can shoot an opened Taken-infused panel to access another Forgotten Eye hidden behind a door. Backtrack to the trial’s origin to find and defeat the Shadow Apprentice and the Taken blight that appears at the previously blocked door.

Proceed normally through the encounter by crossing the hyperspace bridge to the other ship. After defeating enough Forgotten Eyes, navigate to the right and shoot another panel on the wall, revealing another Forgotten Eye inside the unlocked door. Utilize Shadow Power against the Taken Captain situated within the middle room.

Upon his defeat, venture into the right room to destroy the nearby Taken blight with the Praxic Blade and open a vent leading down deeper into the dungeon. Continue straight to discover additional Forgotten Eyes and a room filled with a Taken Captain and another Taken blight, which conceals the final panel.

Once you interact with this panel, you will receive yet another artifact. Upon returning to the Inner Temple after completing the dungeon again, you will be rewarded with the Invigorating Blade, a Blade Focus for the Praxic Blade.

Uncovering the Third Artifact in Equilibrium & The Reward

Step 4: Secure the Third Secret Artifact in the Second Traversal Encounter

The third and final relic can be located in the jumping puzzle preceding your confrontation with the final boss, Dredgen Sere. Navigate through this area until you find a door with a Taken blight on the left, which should be dismantled using the Praxic Blade. Your objective is to gather Gathering Shadow and eliminate Forgotten Eyes while using Shadow Power to push enemies off the edge to progress into the next room.

As you traverse these corridors, look to the right to spot Taken blights suspended in the air; you can destroy these with the Praxic Blade to create navigable platforms to reach more Forgotten Eyes. Maintain your momentum and eliminate all discovered eyes. At the back right, activate the first battery panel using Shadow Power, with another panel located high on the far left.

After activating both battery panels, enter the red pipe leading to the boss encounter; shoot the vent on the floor to access the final room brimming with Forgotten Eyes, a Taken Captain, and the last Taken blight obscuring the final battery panel. Activating this panel grants access to a locked door nearby, leading to the ultimate relic, which provides the Gyro Core Power Core upgrade upon its return to the Inner Temple post-dungeon completion.

Completing The Way Between Quest in Equilibrium & Obtain Your Reward

Step 5: Conquer the Shade of Sere Boss

With all relics placed, proceed to the rear of the Inner Temple room where a Taken blight and a Raid Banner will now appear. Destroy the Taken blight to enter a boss arena against the Shade of Sere.To deliver damage to the boss, eliminate Taken enemies utilizing the Praxic Blade to acquire Shadow Master, and interact with the Shade of Sere to Compel him, repeating this process three times.

The boss will teleport upwards, and you can employ the Taken blights to create platforms to reach him for a DPS phase, which will extend the In Shadow timer only after sufficient damage is dealt. For the subsequent phase, continue to eliminate Taken opponents to Compel the boss with Shadow Master an additional three times, then ascend to his arena to deliver the finishing blow.

Upon the defeat of Shade of Sere, you will earn the Energy Conduit Catalyst for the Praxic Blade. Additionally, you can now engage with the Praxic Fire that spawns.Completing The Way Between quest opens the opportunity for Dungeon Focusing of Equilibrium loot and rewards you with the Catalyst for the Heirloom Exotic crossbow.
