Abyss Races Skill Guide and Comprehensive Tier List

Abyss Races Skill Guide and Comprehensive Tier List

If you’re trying to decide whether to stick with your current Race or roll again in Abyss, you’re in the right place. Below, you’ll find a comprehensive breakdown of each Race’s abilities along with a tier list highlighting the most advantageous options.

As you embark on your underwater journey in Abyss, the gripping experience that begins with a dramatic plunge into the Forgotten Deep unveils a world teeming with adventure. Throughout your exploration, you’ll have the opportunity to re-roll your character’s Race, which grants unique special abilities and bonuses vital for maximizing your performance.

While common Races offer relatively modest enhancements, Epic and Legendary Races provide substantial buffs, including increased oxygen capacity, enhanced carry weight, and passive defenses against aggressive predators—benefits that are hard to overlook.

Since information about Races isn’t readily available in-game, we’ve compiled a list detailing their skills and a tier ranking to help you determine the best choices when considering a re-roll.

Abyss Race Tier List

Tier Races
S Kraken, Sea Angel
A Vampire Squid
B Shark, Anglerfish
C Pufferfish, Narwhal, Spirit, Crab
D Monkey, Fish
F Human, Poop, Coral, Elf, Cyclops

Understanding the Tier List

The tier system in Abyss closely mirrors trends found in many Roblox games: the rarest Races typically provide the most powerful advantages. As a result, both the Kraken and Sea Angel are placed in the S-tier because of their unparalleled buffs.

Following these, the Vampire Squid ranks in A-tier. Although it possesses one of the best abilities—restoring 10% of damage dealt as oxygen with a cooldown of 15 seconds—it lacks a cash bonus that could elevate it further. This capability allows players to replenish their oxygen supply effectively, enabling longer fishing excursions.

In the B-tier, I’ve categorized the Shark and the Anglerfish. The Shark provides a robust damage output along with a attractive cash boost, but activating its damage enhancements can be challenging. In contrast, the Anglerfish offers a suite of practical abilities, including a cash boost, increased damage, and a light source that proves invaluable in darker areas of the game.

The C-tier features Races that are decent yet face stiff competition from superior options. Here, the Crab and Spirit stand out as the strongest choices. The Crab delivers solid bonuses, while the Spirit offers a good cash boost and life-saving abilities, although it doesn’t provide as much overall utility.

In the D-tier, the Monkey and Fish present satisfactory stats but fall short against higher-tier Races. Lastly, the F-tier Races are often considered undesirable; rolling one will likely prompt players to express their frustration in chat.

How to Re-roll Your Race in Abyss

To re-roll your Race in Abyss, simply click the “Races” icon located at the top of the screen. This will give you the option to perform either a standard roll or a premium lucky roll using Star Shards.

Star Shards can be collected by completing quests, registering new fish in your bestiary, and achieving game milestones. The lucky rolls, which have a higher probability of yielding rarer Races, are worth saving up for. Epic and higher rarity Races are significantly more beneficial, making it advisable to hold on to your lucky roll until you can unlock an additional slot for options.
