10-time WWE champion will challenge Roman Reigns if Cody Rhodes loses major title match at WrestleMania, predicts legend

WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray predicts that, should Cody Rhodes be unable to defeat The Tribal Chief at WrestleMania XL, Jey Uso would become the next contender for Roman Reigns’ title.

The American Nightmare secured a chance to compete for Reigns’ Undisputed WWE Universal Championship by triumphing in the 2024 Men’s Royal Rumble match. They will now face each other in the headline match of Night Two at this year’s ‘Mania. Should Rhodes be defeated, he will be barred from challenging the Leader of The Bloodline for the championship again.

Bully Ray discussed potential challengers for Reigns’ Championship on the Busted Open podcast, mentioning that if Rhodes was unable to defeat The Tribal Chief and end his record-breaking reign, his choice for the next contender would be Jey Uso, a 10-time Tag Team Champion and wrestling legend.

“[If Cody loses, who’s the person to go after Roman? Who’s next?] Jey. And if you really look at it, if you really look at the heart of the story, the heart of the story is Jey and Roman,”he said. [1:09 – 1:21]

Jey Uso to Battle Brother Jimmy at WWE WrestleMania XL

At this year’s Showcase of the Immortals, Roman Reigns will have two matches while Jey Uso will face off against his brother, Jimmy Uso, for the first time.

During a recent episode of the Gigantic Pop podcast, Matt Morgan, a seasoned wrestler, proposed that Rikishi, a WWE Hall of Famer and the father of Jey and Jimmy, should make an appearance at WrestleMania XL to be involved in his sons’ match.

“Kishi should show up for that Jimmy and Jey match in my opinion. That’d be awesome,”he said.

On the previous Monday, Jimmy intervened in the main event match between Seth Rollins and Solo Sikoa during RAW. However, Jey quickly came to the aid of The Visionary and engaged in a physical altercation with his twin brother.
