This June, Microsoft unveiled three additional Xbox consoles to complement its current offerings: two iterations of the Xbox Series X and an updated version of the Xbox Series S. Following the commencement of preorder sales in late August, these new models are officially on the market.
In contrast to Sony’s PlayStation 5 Pro, which boasts enhanced performance capabilities for superior graphics and higher frame rates, Microsoft’s revamped Xbox consoles prioritize design aesthetics and increased storage space.
The newly released white Xbox Series X omits the optical drive, effectively transforming it into a more powerful variant of the Xbox Series S. This model comes equipped with a 1TB SSD and is priced at $449 (449 EUR), offering a $50 discount compared to the original Xbox Series X that includes an optical drive.
Additionally, the Xbox Series S has been updated with a new 1TB variant. While the overall design remains unchanged, this model boasts double the storage. It is available at $349 (349 EUR), which is a $50 increase from the previous 512GB version of the white Xbox Series S.
Lastly, there’s the Xbox Series X Galaxy Black Special Edition. This model retains the optical drive for physical games while upgrading its storage to a sizable 2TB. With a distinctive case design that evokes a starry night, it truly stands out. The retail price for the Xbox Series X Galaxy Black Special Edition is set at $599 in the US or 649 EUR in Europe.
