The Wuxia open world action/adventure roleplaying game, Where Winds Meet, was announced by NetEase at Gamescom 2022. Its first Closed Beta Test (CBT) for North American players will begin on April 19.
According to Everstone Studio’s Producer, Beralt Lyu, he said:
The recruitment process is currently in progress, and we are enthusiastic about beginning this exciting journey through the world of oriental Wuxia with you. Your feedback will play a crucial role in our efforts to optimize and improve the game, so we sincerely appreciate your attention and support. We are eager to meet you and embark on this adventure together.
The CBT registrations can now be accessed through the official website once you have completed a survey. The pre-download for the PC version, which is currently the only available version, is scheduled to commence on Monday, April 15. The CBT is expected to conclude on Monday, April 22 and there will be no NDA, allowing for open discussions and streaming. The initial PC system requirements for Where Winds Meet are listed below.

Shortly after the initial announcement of Where Winds Meet, I conducted an interview with the developers from Everstone Studio in order to gain a better understanding of this game.
The theme of Where Winds Meet revolves around martial arts (Wuxia). We place great importance on incorporating martial arts (Wuxia) elements into the game, and the combat abilities within this theme are a combination of traditional martial arts, kung fu, and new innovations. This includes both realistic fighting techniques and fantastical moves that defy the laws of physics, creating a romantic and inventive experience. Our goal is to showcase the unique allure of martial arts combat to our players. The trailer for the game features many martial arts movements inspired by traditional kung fu concepts. One example is the pressure point attacks that have been mentioned by players, which utilize a special form of force to target specific areas of an opponent’s body and immobilize them.
In Where Winds Meet, there are multiple ways for players to acquire martial arts skills that are both thrilling and diverse. For instance, certain forbidden martial arts can only be obtained through the practice of Shadow, which comes with the risk of severe consequences if discovered. Other martial arts may be stumbled upon by chance during exploration, such as the Drunken Fist, which can only be mastered by fighting while under the influence. Additionally, players have the freedom to join any major Jianghu faction and embark on their own unique experiences. We strive to offer players a high level of autonomy.
