Upcoming Major Updates for Teams, Edge, Copilot, and Outlook

Microsoft 365, an essential product from Microsoft, consistently undergoes updates across its diverse applications, keeping users informed about the latest features and enhancements. Recently, the company announced a price increase for several of its service WeUs, justifying this change by referencing the continuous introduction of new functionalities. Building on this, Microsoft is set to enhance numerous Microsoft 365 applications in the near future, providing users with exciting new capabilities.

Enhancements to Microsoft Teams

Microsoft Teams users who manage multiple accounts across different tenants can look forward to a significant upgrade. Starting February 2026, they will have the ability to view notifications and respond to chats seamlessly without switching accounts manually. This enhancement is aimed at streamlining workflows and enhancing productivity.

Additionally, Teams will introduce a feature enabling users to report suspicious calls from February 2026, enhancing real-time threat detection across the platform. Another notable feature set to arrive is autocorrect for messages; while this feature has potential benefits, Microsoft has yet to confirm whether users will have the option to customize its functionality. Furthermore, IT administrators will soon be able to modify the notification string and URL displayed during meeting recordings or transcriptions. Teams users will also gain the ability to select and forward up to five messages in sequence starting next month.

Updates for Microsoft Edge

Next month, Microsoft Edge for Business will debut a new “modern”New Tab Page (NTP) feature, although specific details remain sparse. Users who find the Copilot icon intrusive will soon be able to hide it from their toolbar, along with IT admins who will acquire policies allowing them to control its visibility.

Moreover, Edge is set to introduce an essential security feature called “Tenant Restrictions v2 (TRv2)”.This functionality will enable organizations to block unauthorized access from Microsoft 365 tenants directly through Edge for Business, assisting enterprises in maintaining strict compliance and guarding against data breaches across tenant boundaries.

Improvements in Microsoft Outlook

Beginning in January 2026, Outlook for Windows and the web will feature a “Quick Parts”option, allowing users to save email snippets for easy reuse in future messages. This productivity enhancement is anticipated to streamline communication significantly.
