Upon exiting the Motherhood Facility, you will come across a Hot Spring that allows you to interact and relax. At this point, Dollman will mention the Hot Spring and encourage you to take a break in it.
To unlock the feature, enter the Hot Spring and choose the option labeled Hot Spring Jump. This action transports you to another Hot Spring situated in Heartman’s Lab. After exiting Heartman’s lab, proceed to the main terminal to meet with a woman who will reward you with the Hot Springs blueprint. You can find her near the Mechanic and Data Scientist.
Building Hot Springs: A Guide
Amongst the various structures in Death Stranding 2, constructing Hot Springs can be particularly challenging due to the limited locations available for this purpose. Finding the right spot can sometimes be a lengthy process—one that took me two hours!
The system uses color-coded indicators to guide you: a Null signal indicates that no suitable location is nearby, a Faint signal means you are close, and a Strong signal denotes that you are almost at the right spot.
Your PCC LV 2, the necessary item for building a Hot Spring, will emit sounds to assist you in locating a viable area. If the beeping intensifies, you’re heading in the right direction. Continue tracking the sound until the Hydrothermal Sensor Reading shifts to “Strong, ”and the Hot Spring hologram turns blue. Once this occurs, finalize the construction by pressing R2.
Functionality of Hot Springs in Death Stranding 2
Hot Springs serve dual purposes for players in Death Stranding 2. Primarily, they provide a means of fast travel between different Hot Springs.
To utilize this fast travel feature, enter a Hot Spring and hold the Square button to bathe. Then, press Square again to bring up the map, where you can select another Hot Spring to journey to via Hot Spring Jump.
Additionally, Hot Springs grant Sam various buffs, each dependent on which spring is used. For instance, the Hot Spring near the Animal Shelter restores Sam’s Stamina, while the one in Heartman’s Lab enhances it instead.
