Google, in collaboration with Germany’s Sparkasse, announced a pioneering partnership aimed at revolutionizing online age verification. This collaboration harnesses Sparkasse’s extensive network of 343 regional savings banks, which cater to over 50 million customers, to launch the first nationally scaled, wallet-based digital age verification service within the European Union.
How the New System Works
The upcoming initiative allows Sparkasse customers to receive a verified age credential directly through their existing banking app. When accessing partner websites or applications, users will be able to confirm their age with just one click—eliminating the need for additional documents and safeguarding their personal information beyond confirming their eligibility. This innovation offers online service operators a dependable method to ensure only age-appropriate users gain access, thereby enhancing child protection measures and compliance with regulations.

The integrated solution boasts compatibility with Android and Chrome, making age verification both seamless and secure.
