This morning, Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio and SEGA revealed that a free demo for Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties will be available later today across all platforms, although at staggered release times. The PC version will be the first to go live at 7 AM Pacific Time, followed by console versions for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S and X, and Nintendo Switch 2, which will be accessible starting at 9 PM Pacific Time.

This demo serves as a glimpse into the game, but unlike previous demos, players will not be able to transfer their save data to the full game. Instead, it offers a way for potential buyers to test the experience before committing to a purchase. The developers have detailed the demo’s features:

Yakuza Kiwami 3: Players will embody Kazuma Kiryu in the vibrant Ryukyu of Okinawa. Here, they can engage in combat utilizing both the powerful Dragon of Dojima: Kiwami style and the weapon-oriented Ryukyu style. Additionally, players can delve into engaging side activities like karaoke, sub-stories, and customizable outfits.
Dark Ties: This segment introduces players to a new narrative featuring Yoshitaka Mine. Set in the bustling streets of Kamurocho, players will navigate an array of activities while mastering Mine’s unique shoot-boxing combat style to take on adversaries.

Background on Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties

New information about Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties was unveiled during the RGG Summit 2025 in September, marking this title as an ‘extreme’ remake of the third main installment in the franchise, originally released in 2009 for PlayStation 3 and subsequently for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

This remake introduces a fresh narrative through Dark Ties, where players follow Yoshitaka Mine’s journey into the dark underbelly of the Yakuza after enduring significant losses. His quest to form genuine connections is expressed through thrilling boxing combat and diverse side quests.

Release Date and Pre-Order Bonuses

Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties is slated to launch on February 12, 2026, for all mentioned platforms.
