Apple iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max Dynamic Island May Shift to Top-Left Corner, According to New Source

A recent tip from a Weibo user ignited speculation about Apple’s plans for its forthcoming iPhone 18 Pro series, particularly concerning an innovative front-facing camera placement. This report has now been corroborated by Jon Prosser of Front Page Tech, further rendering this development even more credible.

Jon Prosser Discusses Design Changes for the iPhone 18 Pro

In his recent YouTube video, Prosser revealed that both the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max will feature a front-facing camera relocated to the top-left portion of the display. Accompanying this change will be an under-display TrueDepth module for Face ID functionality, indicating a significant shift from the traditional design.

As part of this redesign, the Dynamic Island—a feature that visually displays alerts and notifications—will also transition to the top-left corner. Prosser elaborated that, in this new setup, the Dynamic Island will dynamically expand and contract based on user activities, providing a cohesive user experience.

This development aligns with an earlier assertion from the Weibo tipster known as Smart Pikachu, who hinted at the experimental iPhone 18 Pro prototype with a similarly positioned front-facing camera. Moreover, industry insiders like Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman and another Weibo source, Instant Digital, have also acknowledged that the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max will incorporate a Dynamic Island, albeit in a more compact version. In contrast, Wayne Ma from The Information has suggested that Apple might completely eliminate the Dynamic Island in favor of a single pinhole cutout for aesthetic reasons.

Key Specifications of the iPhone 18 Pro Series
