Mini PCs inspired by classic gaming consoles are quite rare, and the newly unveiled model by ACEMAGIC captures the essence of the iconic Nintendo NES. This innovative device merges nostalgia with modern technology, making it a unique addition to the gaming landscape.
Rediscover the NES Aesthetic with ACEMAGIC’s Retro X5 Mini PC
ACEMAGIC, renowned for its commitment to mini PC innovation, has introduced the Retro X5 in China. This latest model exudes the charm of the classic Nintendo Entertainment System (NES), appealing to retro gaming enthusiasts and modern users alike. The company recently showcased two models, including the Retro X5 and Retro X3, both featuring state-of-the-art AMD Zen 4 and Zen 5 chip technology.
The Retro X5 is powered by the robust AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 Strix Point processor, boasting a formidable 12-core and 24-thread configuration based on the Zen 5 architecture. Its design mirrors the classic NES console, featuring a stylish grey and white chassis, and maintaining iconic design elements, including an altered Power button position that now sits to the right. Instead of a traditional reset button, users will find convenient USB ports at the front, including one Type-C and two Type-A, accompanied by a 3.5mm audio jack for added functionality.
On the rear of the device, users will discover additional connectivity options, including two USB Type-A 3.2 ports and a single USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port. For high-quality display output, it is equipped with HDMI 2.1 and DP 2.0 ports, as well as dual 2.5 G LAN for reliable wired internet connections. The Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 ensures a powerful combination of CPU, GPU, and NPU capabilities, catering to productivity, AI functionalities, and gaming demands. Its Radeon 890M integrated GPU, based on the RDNA 3.5 architecture, is widely recognized for its efficiency in both mini PCs and handheld gaming devices.
Equipped with a generous 32 GB of RAM and a substantial 1 TB SSD, the Retro X5 is priced at approximately 6, 499 Yuan, or around US$940. While it remains unclear whether this model will see a global release, updates will be provided as soon as more information becomes available. Meanwhile, the Retro X3 is on the horizon and will feature a Zen 4 architecture with a Ryzen 7 H 255 processor alongside Radeon 780M integrated graphics, expected to be priced even more affordably, although its launch date has yet to be announced.
