Three new PvP maps showcased for Destiny 2 Into the Light

The upcoming Destiny 2 Into the Light expansion will see the addition of three new PvP maps to the Crucible pool, including Trials of Osiris, Iron Banner, and all other modes within the playlist. It is important to mention that these maps are expected to arrive on May 7, 2024, one month after the release of the free expansion. Along with the return of weapons and PvE activities, players who enjoy PvP will have plenty of new content to enjoy.

The three maps are called Eventide Labs, Cirrus Plaza, and Dissonance. They are all inspired by Europa, Neomuna, and Terraformed Pyramid Ship, respectively, and offer a variety of tilesets and peak angles. These maps are part of a map pack that the company has been diligently developing and will be available to everyone free of charge.

During Bungie’s third livestream for Into the Light, the community was provided with in-depth explanations about these maps. PvP map design expert Coolie Calihan, who is a veteran on the team, demonstrated all three maps using the company’s development tools, offering insight into potential strategies for future battles.

Destiny 2’s Latest Update Introduces Three Exciting PvP Maps on May 7th

PvP maps in Destiny 2 can often spark heated discussions within the community. The game’s looter-shooter genre has cultivated a dedicated PvP player base, whose primary focus is competing in Crucible, Iron Banner, and Trials of Osiris matches. As a result, it is crucial to possess a thorough knowledge of all maps, regardless of their reception, from the disliked Disjunction to the beloved Javelin-4.

The three maps scheduled for release on May 7, 2024, are as follows:

It should be acknowledged that a map is not evaluated until it is released to the community. Nevertheless, the initial response from the livestream has been mostly favorable, as Bungie has already showcased many corners and potential angles for all scenarios.

As previously stated, all three maps will be added to the regular PvP pool, meaning that they will be available for everyone to play in regular Control matches. These maps will also be included in weekly rotators, including the Trials of Osiris.

The release date for Into the Light is scheduled for April 9, 2024, after a special gameplay presentation for Destiny 2 The Final Shape, which will take place before the weekly reset.
