“The hens must have been so excited” – Serena Williams’ husband Alexis Ohanian jokes about the American’s Byrdie issue cover

Alexis Ohanian, husband of Serena Williams, recently made a playful remark about one of the American’s pictures from Byrdie’s latest spring cover photoshoot.

Since her retirement from the sport in 2022, Williams has shifted her focus to other ventures. Widely recognized as an icon both on and off the court, the former World No. 1 has made significant contributions to the world of fashion through collaborations with major brands and the launch of her own successful brands.

The 42-year-old, who is set to enter the beauty industry with the launch of her new venture Wyn Beauty, was recently highlighted on Byrdie, a major online beauty magazine, as its spring cover star. Williams took to Instagram to share the stunning photos from the shoot.

“Beauty has been part of every era of my life, from the court to the red carpet. @wyn Beauty is an extremely personal undertaking. It’s a brand that’s evolved from my lifelong passion for makeup, and the entire collection is authentic to who I am.”

During the shoot, a photo was taken of Serena Williams wearing a stunning pink gown and posing with a group of hens. Her husband, Alexis Ohanian, playfully teased her in the comments of her post, jokingly mentioning that she forgot to mention the hens’ appearance.

“You didn’t tell me the HENS had a cameo! Amazing. They must’ve been so excited,”Ohanian wrote.

Serena Williams and The Good Glamm Group have formed a joint venture called ‘Wyn Beauty’.

Williams stated (via PR Newswire) that her goal in establishing this brand was to develop makeup that could keep up with the demands of a busy day and accentuate the natural beauty of individuals.

“I needed products I could apply at 7am before a full day of meetings, spending time with my kids, making time for the things I love and still look good at the end of the day. I needed makeup that could truly move with me. That’s the intention behind WYN BEAUTY – for people to live in it every single day of their lives and enhance the beauty they already have.”

Despite her success, Serena Williams emphasized that Wyn’s goal was not to be the top brand globally, but to be the best brand for each individual.

“Beauty is a field where everyone wins. You set and define your own personal goals and standards. WYN isn’t about being THE best, but your best.”
