Ubisoft Toronto has recently updated its official Facebook page, potentially hinting at upcoming news regarding the Splinter Cell Remake.

There has been a significant amount of time since we last heard any updates regarding the development of Ubisoft’s upcoming remake of Splinter Cell. However, yesterday, the studio responsible for the remake updated their profile picture and header on Facebook, indicating that there may be some news about the game coming soon. This change was recently noticed by ‘MauroNL’, an observant user on X, as shown by their Tweet.

While this alteration does not guarantee that we will receive updates on the game, we can still hope for more information about the highly-anticipated remake.

Back in December of 2021, Ubisoft made an official announcement for their upcoming Splinter Cell Remake, which will be powered by the Snowdrop Engine. Our goal is to retain the essence and concepts of the original game while delving deeper into our characters and the world to make them more genuine and relatable. As a Scriptwriter at Ubisoft Toronto, you will be part of the Narrative team and play a crucial role in crafting a cohesive and captivating storyline for a new generation of Splinter Cell enthusiasts.

Upon announcement of the upcoming Splinter Cell Remake in 2021, producer Matt West shared that we will keep you updated with any new information as it becomes available.

To me, a remake takes the foundation set by a remaster and expands upon it. The original Splinter Cell, released 19 years ago, was groundbreaking and ahead of its time. However, in today’s gaming landscape, the standards and preferences of players have evolved. Therefore, I believe a remake is necessary rather than a simple remaster. While we are still in the early stages of development, our goal is to preserve the essence of the original games that made Splinter Cell so iconic. As we rebuild the game from scratch, we will also enhance the visuals and make adjustments to certain design elements to cater to modern player expectations.
