Shane McMahon drops cryptic update ahead of WWE WrestleMania XL

As the anticipation builds for the two-night spectacle of WWE WrestleMania XL, fans eagerly speculate about potential surprises that may unfold on the road to the highly anticipated event. Fueling the rumors and speculation even further, Shane McMahon has shared a rare cryptic update ahead of the 40th annual event.

The previous victor of the WWE World Cup made his most recent appearance during Night Two of WrestleMania 39, where he participated in an in-ring segment with Celebrity Hall of Famer Snoop Dogg. This led to an unexpected match between Shane and The Miz, but unfortunately, the son of Vince McMahon suffered a torn quad and Death Row rapper Snoop Dogg was able to defeat The A-Lister through quick thinking and improvisation.

Complex Magazine shared an Instagram gallery featuring their top sneaker highlights from previous WWE events. The gallery featured a snapshot from RAW on April 24, 2006, capturing McMahon donning his Air Jordan 3 Retro True Blues as he executed a flying elbow drop on Shawn Michaels. Shane later re-posted this photo to his Instagram Stories without adding a caption.

McMahon’s enigmatic message was shared during heightened speculation as WWE’s WrestleMania 40 is rapidly approaching. Despite not being very active on social media, the 54-year-old does occasionally post and show support for his children. Many are speculating that this could be a hint at his return during The Show of Shows, but it is improbable that it will be in a wrestling role.

Rico Constantino signed his WWE developmental contract in 1999 as a rookie with only 12 matches under his belt. He continued to be a part of the company until his sudden release on November 7, 2004.

Before his call-up, the Model had already achieved success in the wrestling world. He held the OVW Southern Tag Team Championship with John Cena and also had a three-time reign as OVW Heavyweight Champion. Additionally, he held gold in Japan. However, despite his accomplishments, Shane McMahon viewed him as a mere jobber from the start. The Model also had a reign as WWE Tag Team Champion with Rikishi and Charlie Haas.

During his appearance on The Two Man Power Trip of Wrestling podcast, the 62-year-old recounted the moment when Shane approached him during his time in developmental.

“I’m practicing, and then I get a drink of water and stuff, and Shane walks right up to me, looks right at me, and goes, ‘You know, Rico, you’re gonna be nothing but a flat-backer, which is a jobber.’ That’s what he said, and I went, ‘Oh, OK,’ which made me more determined,”Rico Constantino recalled.
