Predator: Hunting Grounds Coming to Xbox Series X, PS5 as Sony Hands Publishing to IllFonic

In 2020, IllFonic released Predator: Hunting Grounds, which followed their previous titles like Friday the 13th: The Game and Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed in utilizing an asymmetric multiplayer approach. The game was published exclusively for PC and PS4 by Sony, which was a somewhat unexpected move. Although it was backed by a major publisher, the game received limited attention upon its initial release. However, it appears that IllFonic is now planning to revive the game for current-generation consoles.

It has been announced by IllFonic that they will now be handling the publishing responsibilities for Predator: Hunting Grounds and will officially launch the game on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. To kick off this transition, IllFonic will first release an update in April which will focus on balancing adjustments and overall enhancements. The current generation console versions will then be released in 2024, followed by ongoing updates and new content that will continue into 2025. Below is a timeline detailing the upcoming additions to the game.

• In April 2024, Patch 2.49 will be released for the current versions of Predator: Hunting Grounds on PS4 and PC (Steam/Epic). This update will primarily address issues with player movement, as well as reworking and balancing Fireteam weapons and Predator weapons. Additionally, the team will be making improvements to the user experience and playability. More details will be provided in the patch notes.
• In late 2024, Predator will be released on Xbox as part of the launch of Xbox Series X|S and PS5. This version will utilize Unreal 4.27, Vivox, and Wwise to provide a next-gen gaming experience. Both a Standard Edition and Digital Deluxe Edition will be available for purchase.
