Dragon’s Dogma 2 DLC Teased by CAPCOM Survey

Despite having launched just a few days ago, CAPCOM has already reached out to players of Dragon’s Dogma 2 with a survey inquiring about their potential interest in buying DLC.

The previous game in the series, known for its Dark Arisen update which included bonus features such as the Bitterblack Isle dungeon, was released approximately a year after the initial game launch. It remains to be seen if Dragon’s Dogma 2 will receive a similar expansion based on its sales performance.

As of now, CAPCOM has not released any statements. Our information is limited, such as the latest UK retail chart (https://twitter.com/Chris_Dring/status/1772124133414830361), which shows the game ranking at #2 in its first week, just behind EA Sports FC and ahead of Nintendo’s Princess Peach: Showtime. According to Steam data (https://steamdb.info/app/2054970/charts/), the game reached a peak of 228K concurrent players, which is not necessarily impressive. Additionally, there has been a noticeable level of dissatisfaction among users due to microtransactions and suboptimal performance, resulting in a ‘Mixed’ average user review with a 55% approval rating.

Despite some criticism, Dragon’s Dogma 2 received positive reviews from critics. Additionally, CAPCOM has already revealed their plans to address and improve upon some of the grievances raised by players through updates, as announced in this statement.

Despite the high expectations surrounding Dragon’s Dogma 2, this review may come across as negative. However, this is only due to the fact that the original game set such a strong foundation to build upon. Unfortunately, CAPCOM chose to focus on maintaining the game’s strengths rather than improving its weaknesses, resulting in a similar experience to the first game. Despite this, Dragon’s Dogma 2 still offers a highly enjoyable fantasy action/adventure with RPG elements that can provide around 40 hours of pure entertainment. Its impressive sense of exploration, engaging combat system, and stunning visuals will keep you motivated throughout the entire playthrough. Just be aware that it is not a full-fledged fantasy world simulator or a game with a memorable narrative.
