Popular WWE faction’s controversial name was poorly executed and overthought, says Becky Lynch

Ever since her rapid ascent within the WWE, Becky Lynch has revolutionized the female division and taken it to new heights. Most recently, she spoke out about the contentious moniker bestowed upon her previous faction on the main roster.

Despite receiving her grand start on WWE’s main roster through joining forces with Charlotte Flair and Paige, Becky Lynch faced backlash on social media when their team’s original name was revealed to have a controversial meaning. As a result, management ultimately renamed them ‘Team PCB’.

During an interview with WrestlingNewsCo’s Steve Fall to promote her upcoming book, Lynch was asked about the controversial name. She acknowledged that while there was good intention behind pushing the women in the promotion, the execution of the name was poor.

“Yeah, I think the whole thing, here’s the thing, it was very poorly executed and just overthought because the thing was, in NXT, we’re just having good matches and having good storylines and nobody was making a big deal about it. At the time, I was saying these things but also had to keep it to the point too… The point was that all of it was done with good intentions, right? We realized that people want this, they want to see us wrestle, and let’s do this. Let’s do this the best way we know how.”(From 15:50 to 17:20)

Former WWE Champion Calls Out Becky Lynch for WrestleMania Match

Ever since she became The Man on WWE’s main roster, Becky Lynch has been a trailblazer in the women’s division. Following her return from a hiatus, the former RAW and SmackDown Women’s Champion elevated other stars in the promotion, solidifying her status as a pioneer in the industry.

The Man’s success in the industry has cemented her status as a megastar and guaranteed her a future spot in WWE’s Hall of Fame. Despite her impressive record, there are still many superstars who have yet to cross paths with Lynch in the ring, including NXT’s rising star, Roxanne Perez.

During a recent interview on WWE Deutschland, the former NXT Women’s and NXT Women’s Tag Champions mentioned Becky Lynch, Bayley, and Cora Jade as potential opponents for the upcoming event known as The Grandest Stage of Them All.

The Prodigy’s upcoming month will be filled with a monumental challenge as she prepares to go head-to-head against Lyra Valkyria for the NXT Women’s Championship at Stand & Deliver 2024.
