Polish High School Teacher Aims for Success in Overclocking Competition; 25 Student Teams Set to Launch on April 10

We had a conversation with a passionate PC hardware enthusiast and Tomasz Mąka, a dedicated Polish high school teacher, about their upcoming event in the overclocking arena. Here’s what we discovered.

ZSEM OC CUP III Scheduled for April 10, 2026: A Thrilling Competition with 25 Teams

The ZSEM OC CUP III promises to be an exhilarating event with eight stages and three champions. This highly anticipated overclocking tournament will be hosted at ZSEM High School, featuring teams of students competing fiercely for the best records. Just recently, we highlighted how this Polish high school is fostering a vibrant culture of PC hardware overclocking among its students, thanks to the guidance of their instructor, Tomasz Mąka. Mark your calendars for April 10, when the event will also be streamed live on their YouTube channel.

In our discussion with Tomasz, we explored the details of their plans and the structure of their overclocking sessions.

Q: Will students compete as individuals or in teams?

A: Students primarily compete in teams of up to two, although some choose to compete individually. This year, we expect to see 25 teams, and we are considering hosting an international event in 2027.

Q: Have any record-breaking performances been recorded, either nationally or globally?

A: Not yet, but we’re getting closer every year! You can follow our progress through live scores available on HWBot.

Q: Which sponsors are supporting the event, and are hardware vendors aware of these tournaments?

A: The event receives strong backing from local Polish companies, and we are working to build greater visibility with hardware vendors as well.

Q: Is overclocking part of the official curriculum or an extracurricular activity?

A: Currently, overclocking is an extracurricular activity. I take the lead in introducing students to this field, aiming to engage new enthusiasts. For more information, check out my HWBOT profile.

Q: Will the next tournament be broadcast live, and on which platform?

A: Absolutely! The tournament will be livestreamed on April 10, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM CET. It will primarily be on YouTube and possibly also on my Twitch channel.

Tomasz’s aspirations for his students are promising, and while the ZSEM OC CUP III will focus exclusively on local participants this year, the potential for a larger international platform looms on the horizon for next year. It’s encouraging to see local Polish businesses stepping up to support these initiatives, offering valuable prizes for the competitors. In the previous competition, students received impressive hardware awards, including a Ryzen 5 9600X and a GeForce RTX 4060. This year, the stakes are even higher, with prizes such as a PlayStation 5, an Xbox Series S, and a Nintendo Switch waiting for the top three contenders.

Tomasz’s HWBot profile reveals that he is already an accomplished overclocker, ranking #3 in Poland—a remarkable achievement! It’s inspiring to see passionate students under the mentorship of such an experienced hardware overclocker, eager to invite more participants into the exciting world of hardware overclocking. As the event approaches, it would be beneficial for PC hardware vendors to consider endorsing the competition by providing equipment and prizes. After all, each participating student or team brings their personalized setup, which will undergo rigorous overclocking challenges, highlighting the risks and thrills involved.

The ZSEM OC CUP III will be broadcast live on both YouTube and Twitch, focusing on CPU overclocking, with no limitations on cooling techniques. Don’t miss the action!
