Several months ago, NVIDIA announced plans to provide an impressive “multi-GW”of computing power in what was billed as a groundbreaking $100 billion deal with OpenAI. This investment positioned NVIDIA as a significant player in the emerging AI sector, particularly as OpenAI set its sights on a potential initial public offering (IPO).The announcement generated considerable excitement within the tech community, as it indicated a robust commitment toward advancing frontier AI technologies. According to a report from The Wall Street Journal, the agreement remains unfinalized, and Huang has voiced concerns about what he perceives as a “lack of discipline in business approach”from OpenAI’s team led by Sam Altman. Notably, NVIDIA’s prior 10-Q filing labeled the agreement a “non-binding”one, underscoring the uncertainty surrounding its realization.
