New Trailer Released for Dark Fantasy Action Game Covenant

Exciting Updates from the Galaxies Showcase: Covenant Trailer Revealed

At the recent Galaxies Showcase, Legion Studio, an independent game developer, unveiled the second official trailer for their upcoming project, Covenant. This dark fantasy action game was initially introduced during The Game Awards 2024. Legion Studio is comprised of a 12-member team boasting experience from major franchises such as Call of Duty, DOOM, Apex Legends, Battlefield, Destiny, and Halo.

Embark on a Mythical Adventure

In Covenant, players will embody a warrior angel dispatched from the Heavens to navigate the realms of Creation, following the path of the fallen angel, Malach. The game promises an intricately interconnected world reminiscent of popular Soulslike titles. This design encourages players to engage in various activities such as solving puzzles, deciphering riddles, and exploring platforming challenges. Players will need to uncover shortcuts and discover secret routes to reveal all that Covenant has to offer.

Dynamic Combat at Its Core

Combat is foundational to the gameplay experience in Covenant. The development team highlights their commitment to creating a deep, melee combat system influenced by elements from fighting games like Tekken and Smash Bros, as well as immersive sims such as Dark Messiah and Dishonored, and iconic action titles like Dark Souls. Players will have the ability to shift between different combat stances that not only change their fighting style but also alter the way they run, jump, kick, and slide. Each stance offers a unique gameplay experience. Furthermore, magic will play a significant role in enhancing build crafting, strategic maneuvering, and creative combat approaches.

Multiplayer Modes and Future Development

Covenant will feature both cooperative and competitive multiplayer options, allowing for thrilling 1v1, 2v2, and 3v3 arenas. This aspect aims to engage players beyond the single-player campaign, fostering a vibrant community of warriors.

Currently, Covenant remains in the early stages of development. While the team at Legion Studio expressed a desire to avoid early access, they may consider it as a viable option should financial assistance be needed. They are actively seeking a publisher to facilitate further progress. While console versions are a goal for the future, the PC version is the primary focus at this time, and interested players can wishlist it here.
