New Silent Hill 2 Remake Rating in the US Hints at New Explicit Scenes

WARNING: POTENTIAL SPOILERS AHEAD! The ERSB has recently rated the upcoming Silent Hill 2 Remake, and the description of the rating may suggest the inclusion of new, graphic scenes.

Recently, the upcoming remake from Bloober Team received a rating from the Game Rating and Administration Committee (GRAC) in South Korea. Furthermore, the Steam page for the remake was updated, indicating that its release may be imminent. Two weeks later, the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) in the US also gave the game a rating. This only adds to the excitement for the potential release, and the ESRB’s rating description may reveal some interesting details about the remake. One notable aspect mentioned in the description is the inclusion of new explicit scenes that were not present in the original 2001 game. “In addition to depictions of violence and bloodshed in cutscenes and illustrations, the game also includes some suggestive and sexual content. This includes characters engaging in pole-dancing at strip clubs and posters featuring women in revealing outfits. Some dialogue also alludes to sexual themes and possible past instances of sexual abuse/misconduct, such as references to a videotape and forced behavior.”

The Silent Hill 2 Remake, which runs on Epic’s Unreal Engine 5, is set to launch on PC and PlayStation 5. In February of this year, a member of the development team expressed disappointment with the trailer released by publisher Konami, stating that it did not accurately reflect the essence of the game.
