“Nate beats him like a drum” – Chael Sonnen launches poetic attack on “pet idiot” Jorge Masvidal

Chael Sonnen recently began a string of articulate insults aimed at Jorge Masvidal.

For an extended period of time, Sonnen and Masvidal have been engaged in a heated argument. This dispute first began last November and has since continued through various social media outlets and multiple interviews. Both ex-UFC competitors have openly expressed their intentions to cause physical harm to one another.

Renowned for his shrewd cunning and unparalleled mastery of verbal combat, ‘The American Gangster’ recently made an appearance on X, where he shared a series of clever Haiku poems aimed at ‘Gamebred’ and his highly-anticipated boxing match against Nate Diaz.

“In anticipation of my upcoming trip to Japan, some traditional HAIKU about my Pet Idiot Jorge Masvidumb (Please add your own gong-and-waterfall mental soundscape)”

In addition, he shared:

“Monkey snatches plum. Nate beats him like a drum. Jorge Masvidal is dumb.”

The Haiku, which has its origins in Japan, is a poetic form that consists of three lines. It adheres to a specific syllable pattern: five syllables in the first line, seven in the second, and five in the third.

The hostility between the two was further fueled during his appearance on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani in November of last year.

Masvidal aligned himself with the MMA journalist in a brief altercation involving Sonnen. ‘Gamebred’ then proceeded to express his anger towards Sonnen through a barrage of vulgar comments, including accusations of cheating.

The underlying conflict behind Chael Sonnen and Ariel Helwani’s heated exchange

In October of last year, while Chael Sonnen was a guest on The MMA Hour, there was a heated exchange between him and the show’s host, Ariel Helwani. Despite previously having had amicable and spirited conversations about combat sports as co-hosts on ‘Ariel and The Bad Guy’, this specific interaction became more confrontational.

The disagreement began when Helwani asked Sonnen to discuss his thoughts on Francis Ngannou’s split decision loss to Tyson Fury. What began as a routine question turned into a heated argument, as ‘The American Gangster’ disputed Helwani’s estimation of Ngannou’s potential earnings from his first boxing match.

The disagreement of opinions resulted in a tense confrontation, during which Sonnen went as far as making a menacing comment about “strangling”Helwani, while the Canadian journalist persistently accused Sonnen of being deceitful. After a few minutes of heated argument, Sonnen abruptly terminated the interview, leaving Helwani bewildered by his sudden outburst.
