Minecraft 1.21: All blocks confirmed for the update

The upcoming release of Minecraft 1.21 seems to be packed with a plethora of new features, including significant structures, weapons, and mobs. Additionally, the update will also revamp older content with various intriguing additions such as new potions for brewing, a reworked system for bad omen, and numerous exciting blocks for building and utility purposes.

Listed below are the newly added blocks in Minecraft update 1.21, along with instructions on how to craft or locate them, and their potential uses.

Minecraft 1.22’s new features and additions

The Artisan

The addition of the crafter block has had the most significant impact among the new blocks. It serves as a redstone component that takes inputs and items and automatically combines them to create other items. This feature was previously only accessible through Minecraft’s top technical mods, making its official inclusion highly anticipated by players.

The crafter is constructed using five iron ingots, a crafting table, two redstone dusts, and a dispenser. Like other redstone components that handle item inputs and outputs, such as Minecraft’s hoppers which are both useful and frustrating, the crafter has various directional facings that determine the direction of input and output.

The Intense Core

The heavy core, added with 1.21, is crucial for players who enjoy combat. While it can also serve as a decorative block, its primary function is to craft the new and exceptionally strong mace.

These weapons have a special ability to convert fall damage that the player would normally take into damage that is dealt to a target. This unique feature allows the mace to potentially eliminate any mob in Minecraft with a single hit, provided the fall is high enough. Additionally, the introduction of three new enchantments for the mace further enhances its power by increasing damage, lowering target armor, and propelling players back up.

Experimental Spawners (and foreboding)

Trial spawners are a unique type of mob spawner that can only be found in trial chambers. In contrast to regular spawners, Minecraft’s trial spawners are not affected by the light level and will automatically spawn a predetermined number of mobs upon detecting a player. If the player successfully defeats all the spawned mobs, the trial chamber will dispense rewards such as emeralds, diamonds, and ominous bottles. However, after this event, there is a 30-minute cooldown before the trial chamber can be activated again.

It is important to avoid drinking an ominous bottle in case it drops, as this will result in all trial spawners being transformed into ominous spawners through the bad omen effect. Any spawners that were on cooldown before the conversion will reset and be able to spawn mobs once again. Ominous spawners are identifiable by their soul-fire blue hue, and they produce tougher mobs with better loot drops upon defeat.

Secure Storage and Sinister Chambers

The vault blocks in Minecraft function similarly to trial spawners as they can only be found within trial chambers. Instead of having to share the contents of a single chest, each player can loot a single vault, making it a unique way of obtaining loot. These vaults can be opened using trial keys that are dropped by trial spawners.

Just like trial spawners and ominous spawners, there are also regular vaults and ominous vaults. The difference is that ominous vaults are colored blue instead of orange and can only be accessed with ominous keys, which are dropped by ominous spawners. Ominous vaults have superior loot compared to regular vaults, and players have a chance to obtain the sought-after heavy core. Additionally, they may contain enchanted books for Minecraft’s three new mace enchantments, as well as valuable items like emeralds and diamonds.
