Michael Chandler reveals how exactly he would beat Conor McGregor with a three-word answer

Despite the inevitability of his fight against Conor McGregor, Michael Chandler does not believe it will last the entire distance.

Chandler burst onto the UFC scene in January 2021 with a powerful knockout of Dan Hooker in his promotional debut. The former Bellator lightweight champion has since maintained his reputation for exciting fights, solidifying his status as a fan favorite.

‘Iron’ last entered the Octagon in November 2022, where he faced a third-round submission defeat against Dustin Poirier. Since then, the 37-year-old has been eagerly anticipating McGregor’s return so they can finally settle their coaching rivalry on ‘The Ultimate Fighter Season 31’.

Despite Chandler’s inactivity, he has remained a prominent figure in the MMA community through his interviews and interactions with fans on social media. Recently, he took to X to share a message inviting people to ask him questions.

“On a plane…ask me anything. Positive vibes only. #ama”

One supporter inquired with Chandler about his upcoming bout against McGregor:

“are you gonna beat conor? if yes, how?”

Chandler confidently voiced his response, providing a succinct answer.

“2nd round ko”

When is the anticipated fight between Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler taking place?

In July 2021, Conor McGregor’s most recent fight was at UFC 264 where he was the main event in a trilogy fight against Dustin Poirier. Sadly, the match was cut short due to McGregor sustaining a serious leg injury, resulting in Poirier winning by first-round TKO.

In 2023, McGregor’s journey back to the Octagon was hindered by a lengthy recovery process. Despite his reported attempts to make a comeback, ‘The Notorious’ was not approved by USADA due to mandatory drug testing, ultimately leading to the UFC’s decision to sever ties with the third-party organization.

Even though he was given the green light to come back, ‘The Notorious’ still had commitments to promote the ‘Road House’ remake, in which he co-starred with Jake Gyllenhaal. Both McGregor and Dana White have now confirmed that the former two-division UFC champion is fully prepared to make his return to fighting.

Despite several instances of misinformation regarding the date of McGregor vs. Michael Chandler, the MMA community remains hopeful that the two UFC stars will finally face off in the summer. The details of their fight, including the location and time, are still unclear.

Michael Chandler has officially confirmed that his fight with Conor McGregor will be held later this year. Please see the video below for confirmation.
