The latest expansion for Lies of P, titled Overture, delivers a wealth of new experiences for players. This DLC introduces an array of unique weapons, a captivating storyline, intriguing characters, and a notable new item called Ancient Disks.
Early in their adventure, players will encounter their first Ancient Disk. However, the in-game description is quite ambiguous, merely stating that a merchant might find value in these disks, without specifying who that merchant is.
This guide aims to clarify the purpose of Ancient Disks in Lies of P: Overture.
Utilizing Ancient Disks in Lies of P: Overture

The Ancient Disk is a rare collectible that can be traded with Klaus, a character newly introduced in the Overture DLC. Players will find Klaus located at Eventide Hotel Krat.
While Ancient Disks can be discovered early in Chapter 1, players won’t have access to Eventide Hotel Krat until after completing this chapter. Once players reach the hotel, they can locate Klaus on the first floor in the west wing.
Klaus offers a selection of items in exchange for Ancient Disks, each requiring one disk. Here’s what players can obtain:
- Resplendent Ergo Crystal
- Legion Calibers
- Quartz
- Full Moonstone
- Plundering Amulet
- Veteran’s Eyepatch
- Great Adventure Mask
- Bell Collar
Initially, Klaus’s inventory is somewhat limited, but players can enhance it by discovering briefcases scattered throughout the DLC. When a briefcase is collected, a prompt will remind players to return it to Klaus for expanded trading options.
Given their rarity, choosing what to exchange with Ancient Disks is crucial. Many players, including myself, find Quartz or the Plundering Amulet to be excellent choices. Quartz plays a vital role as it helps upgrade passive buffs from the P-Organ, while the Plundering Amulet is instrumental in enhancing Fable after a successful Fatal Attack.
Additionally, it’s important to note that Klaus serves another purpose. Alongside trading Ancient Disks, he also allows players to exchange Rare Ergo.
Rare Ergo, which players gather by defeating key bosses in the game, can be traded for unique boss weapons and amulets. This trading mechanic also appeared in the base game, facilitated by Alidoro at Hotel Krat.
Locating Ancient Disks

As previously highlighted, Ancient Disks are exceptionally rare within Lies of P: Overture. Throughout my playthrough, I managed to discover only five, underlining their scarcity given the DLC’s length.
Ancient Disks are most commonly housed in red treasure chests that emit a white glow. These chests also contain various other valuable items such as weapons, Legion Plugs, and special calibers.
It’s crucial to note that Ancient Disks can solely be found in the Forgotten Time timeline specific to the DLC, and they do not appear in the base game.
Unlike Quartz, there are no specific enemies that drop Ancient Disks. I personally did not encounter any foes that yielded this rare item outside of the DLC’s main bosses.
The best strategy for finding Ancient Disks revolves around thorough exploration of the Forgotten Time. Look for the previously mentioned chests and blue pickup items scattered throughout the DLC to improve your chances of acquiring these elusive disks. Make sure to explore every area in-depth to maximize your chances of farming this valuable item.
