“Let’s sit down, let’s make some fights” – Ben Shalom challenges Eddie Hearn to meet face-to-face and discuss fights

In the future, if Ben Shalom has his way, Eddie Hearn and him may collaborate in co-promoting.

Shalom was discussing with talkSPORT the perceived past occurrences of withdrawing some of his BOXXER fighters from matches against members of Hearn’s stable, Matchroom Boxing.

Ben Shalom manages boxer Frazer Clarke, who was withdrawn from a proposed fight against Matchroom fighter Fabio Wardley last year. The up-and-coming promoter stated that this decision was based on his fighter’s inexperience in longer bouts and was unrelated to any reluctance to collaborate with Hearn’s Matchroom stable.

Earlier this week, Hearn suggested that Shalom was avoiding competing against Matchroom fighters, following the collapse of the Dalton Smith (Matchroom) vs Adam Azim (BOXXER) bout.

In a snippet of the previously mentioned conversation, boxing journalist Michael Benson shared, through his X account @MichaelBensonn, the following:

“Ben Shalom has publicly challenged Eddie Hearn to sit down with him for a face-to-face meeting to discuss fights between BOXXER/ Sky and Matchroom/ DAZN as the pair have never met before: “Let’s sit down, let’s make some fights.”[@talkSPORT]”

Take a look at the recent message from Ben Shalom to Eddie Hearn below:

Eddie Hearn’s Co-Promoted Events

The 44-year-old is familiar with working alongside other promoters in the world of boxing.

Despite their previous rivalry, Frank Warren has caught the eye of Hearn as a potential partner for future collaborations. In fact, Warren’s Queensberry Promotions has already committed to a joint Queensberry vs Matchroom event on June 1, showcasing their newfound alliance. This is a significant shift from the past when Hearn’s father, Barry, and Warren clashed as competing boxing promoters in the 1990s.

In addition to their collaborative relationship, Golden Boy Promotions CEO and Chairman Oscar De La Hoya and Hearn have also worked closely together. This is evident in the upcoming WBC super lightweight title fight on April 20, featuring Matchroom’s Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia, with De La Hoya serving as Garcia’s promoter.

The UK native has also teamed up with Jake Paul for the Amanda Serrano vs Katie Taylor match. Paul serves as Serrano’s promoter through the Most Valuable Promotions organization, while Taylor is a fighter for Matchroom Boxing.
