LA Lakers vs Washington Wizards game: Player stats and box scores for April 3, 2024
On Wednesday, the LA Lakers faced off against the Washington Wizards in their final away game before returning to their home court to play against the Cleveland Cavaliers. The team is currently on a two-game winning streak and is determined to maintain their momentum.
Currently ranked sixth in the Western Conference, the New Orleans Pelicans are only two games ahead of Los Angeles. If the Lakers defeat Washington in their upcoming game, they will improve their chances of securing the sixth seed in the 2024 NBA Playoffs.
In the first quarter, the Lakers controlled the game and took a commanding 39-29 lead. Anthony Davis had a strong start with 19 points, while D’Angelo Russell also contributed effectively with eight points. Together, they set the tone for the rest of the game.
In an effort to keep up with “AD’s”pace, Jordan Poole scored 13 points in the first quarter, putting him in double figures. Despite his efforts, Davis’ relentless attack proved too difficult for the Wizards to defend, ultimately giving the Lakers the advantage.
Despite their star big man cooling down, LeBron James was able to maintain the LA Lakers’ lead with an impressive 11-point performance in the second quarter. Without his contribution, things could have taken a turn for the worse for the team.
Despite scoring only nine points, Kyle Kuzma put in a valiant effort to reduce the lead for the Washington Wizards. He even hit a crucial three-pointer. Along with Kuzma, Poole also made a significant impact, scoring 18 points in the first half. Thanks to their contributions, the game remained close and ended with a score of 67-60.
