Death Stranding 2 and Marathon to Feature NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution App Override

NVIDIA’s Game-Changing DLSS 4.5 Support for Upcoming PC Releases

NVIDIA announced today that two highly anticipated PC titles launching this month, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach from Kojima Productions and Marathon by Bungie, will feature support for the next iteration of its cutting-edge transformation technology, NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution. This support will be accessible through the NVIDIA app override, offering gamers enhanced graphics and performance capabilities.

Kojima Productions: Pushing the Boundaries of Graphics

Kojima Productions had previously confirmed support for NVIDIA DLSS 4, alongside compatibility with AMD FSR 4 and Intel XeSS 2 technologies. Now, players can seamlessly switch to the advanced DLSS 4.5, which has recently been validated in a blind test conducted by Computerbase, outperforming both AMD FSR 4 and even native resolution rendering. To ensure optimal performance ahead of the game’s launch, a dedicated driver will be released closer to the release date of Death Stranding 2: On the Beach.

Bungie’s Marathon: A Focus on Performance

In a similar vein, Bungie’s Marathon will also allow players to utilize DLSS 4.5 through the NVIDIA app, but notably, it will refrain from supporting Frame Generation. This decision is strategic, aimed at minimizing latency issues in a competitive gaming environment. Both titles will also have NVIDIA DLAA available as a core option in their graphics settings, allowing players to experience enhanced image quality.

CAPCOM’s Upcoming Release: Monster Hunter 3 Stories: Twisted Reflection

Furthermore, CAPCOM is set to launch Monster Hunter 3 Stories: Twisted Reflection on March 13, featuring NVIDIA DLSS Super Resolution, DLAA, and Reflex technology. However, it’s worth noting that there is currently no indication of support for DLSS 4.5 or Frame Generation, so players should temper their expectations. An early demo is already available for download on Steam.

Updates to Indie Titles: Enhancing Gameplay Experiences

NVIDIA also spotlighted two indie titles that received significant updates: the co-op horror game Demonologist by Clock Wizard Games and the military tactical first-person shooter Black One Blood Brothers developed by Helios Studio. The former was recently upgraded to Unreal Engine 5.6, adding support for NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution, NVIDIA Reflex, and DLSS Frame Generation. Notably, GeForce RTX 50 Series users can enable Multi Frame Generation through the NVIDIA app. Likewise, Black One Blood Brothers has been updated to Unreal Engine 5.7.2, bringing in NVIDIA DLSS Super Resolution alongside the same DLSS 4.5 capabilities via the NVIDIA app.

These developments underscore NVIDIA’s continued commitment to enhancing gaming performance and graphics quality across both mainstream and indie titles, ensuring that PC gamers can look forward to a visually stunning and engaging gaming experience.
