Join us as we explore the transformative aspects of The More the Merrier skill in Nioh 3.
What is The More the Merrier?

The More the Merrier is classified as a Common Skill that requires 4 skill points to equip. Its main function is straightforward: it enables players to cancel ongoing actions and utilize Summoning Seals—special Talismans that permit the summoning of Yokai by placing any Soul Core into the Yang position in your Onmyo Box.
Locating The More the Merrier

You can acquire The More the Merrier early on in your first playthrough. The corresponding skill manual is located on a corpse within the Futama region on the Warring States map, just north of the area’s Master.
Why is The More the Merrier Indispensable?

Though at first glance, the functionality of The More the Merrier may appear minimal—essentially speeding up the execution of Summoning Seals—its impact on combat is profound, unlocking numerous strategic options in Nioh 3.
- Animation Canceling: This skill allows players to cancel any attack animation while using Summoning Seals in both Samurai and Ninja Styles. This capability makes high-commitment Martial Arts, such as the Odachi’s Thunderbolt and the Cestus’ Limitless, much safer to execute.
- Stagger & Pressure: When an enemy runs out of Ki or is blocking, your summon will keep them staggered. This mechanic lets you continue your offensive or restore your own Ki for subsequent moves.
- Defensive Repositioning: If you miscalculate the timing of an enemy’s move, you can cancel your attack into a summon. You can also move in any direction during this summoning animation, allowing you to dodge attacks or quickly recover to block.

Strategic Loadouts: Given that Summoning Seals are limited and can only be replenished at Shrines, you can optimize your approach by configuring your Onmyo Box as follows:
- Choose Soul Cores for the Yang position that provide more Summoning Seals to facilitate frequent animation cancellations.
- Select powerful seals to leverage any Soul Core Passive Skill as a last resort for unleashing major combos on enemies with diminished Ki.

Expert Recommendation: Utilizing the Scampuss or Skeleton Warrior cores proves exceptionally effective. These seals deal rapid damage multiple times, restraining the enemy and allowing you to recover Ki, facilitating the continuation of your Martial Arts skills.
