“It’s like an out-of-body experience” – Bayley on competing in a singles match at WrestleMania for the first time

Bayley has discussed her mindset as she prepares for WrestleMania XL, where she is set to face IYO WeY in a highly-anticipated match for the prestigious WWE Women’s Championship.

Despite being a long-standing member of the company and one of the most accomplished female wrestlers in history, The Role Model has never had the opportunity to compete in a singles match at The Grandest Stage of Them All or vie for the championship title. In all her previous appearances at WrestleMania, she has only competed in multi-woman matches on the main card. However, this year she won the Royal Rumble and will finally have the chance to go head-to-head for the title in a one-on-one match this Sunday.

In a recent interview with The Independent, Bayley expressed her gratitude for being at the top and stated that it feels like the perfect moment in her career. She also emphasized her determination to prove to herself and others that she is here to stay.

“I know this is the big one, it’s a very emotional story and it’s heavy on my heart. I’ve been saying for a few years that I’ve never had a singles match at WrestleMania, let alone for the title… It’s such an amazing time in WWE, too. The fact I’m right there at the top, I’m honored, and I feel it’s the perfect time in my career. Now it’s about proving to myself, and everybody, that I’m not going anywhere. I’ve done everything at WrestleMania besides this singles match… It’s like an out-of-body experience,”she said. [H/T – The Independent]

Bayley confident in Rhea Ripley’s abilities against Becky Lynch

The WWE Women’s Championship will be up for grabs at WrestleMania XL Night Two as The Role Model goes head to head with The Genius of the Sky. Meanwhile, on Night One, Becky Lynch will face off against Rhea Ripley for the Women’s World Title.

During her interview with The Independent, Bayley expressed her lack of concern for the other women’s title match on the show, stating her desire to see the division continue to strengthen.

“I’m always interested,” she said of watching other women on the roster. “It goes back to wanting to see the division grow stronger and stronger. Rhea and Becky, I don’t have to worry about; they know what they’re doing out there, but I’m very excited. Becky has a huge fanbase, Rhea has a ridiculously huge fanbase and has been at the top for the last year, so it’s interesting to me to see how the fans react to them and how the girls react to that.”

It will be intriguing to witness if IYO WeY will be overthrown by Bayley at WWE WrestleMania XL.
