Intel Core Ultra 5 234V “Lunar Lake” CPU Spotted: 8 Cores, 8 Threads, Battlemage “Xe2” iGPU & 3.1 GHz Clock

Recently, the Core Ultra 5 234V, the first Intel Lunar Lake CPU, was discovered in the latest firmware drivers. This new processor boasts 8 cores and a Battlemage iGPU.

Intel Unveils First Lunar Lake CPU: Introducing the Core Ultra 200 Series with 8 Cores and Battlemage “Xe2″Arc iGPU

This is not the first instance of a leaked Intel Lunar Lake-MX chip, but it is the initial occurrence of a sample being leaked with the Core Ultra 200 branding. The same branding is anticipated to be utilized for the Arrow Lake family, which will be accessible on both desktop and laptop platforms.

The leaked Intel Core Ultra 5 234V chip, also known as LNL-M LP5, is an engineering sample belonging to the Family 6 with model number 0xbd and stepping 0x1. According to reports, Intel plans to replace the current Family 6 naming convention in the future. The leaked information reveals that the Intel Core Ultra 5 234V is a Lunar Lake-M chip with 8 cores and 8 threads. It is designed with a combination of four P-Core (Lion Cove) and four E-Core (Skymont) processors, along with on-package LPDDR5x memory. The chip is expected to have a base clock speed of 2.10 GHz and a boost clock speed of

Some of the features of Lunar Lake CPUs include:

  • Designed For Thin & Light Notebooks
  • Lion Cove P-Cores & Skymont E-Cores
  • Battlemage “Xe2-LPG”GPU Architecture
  • 4+4 Core Configurations (MX-Series)
  • Up To 64 Execution Units
  • On-Package LPDDR5x Memory
  • Up To 3x Faster NPU Performance Versus Meteor Lake
  • Late 2024 Launch, 2025 Volume

The leak also reveals that the Battlemage “Xe2″iGPU, part of the Intel Core Ultra 5 234V “Lunar Lake”CPU, is expected to have up to 8 Xe-cores and 64 EUs. The specific configuration is not mentioned, but the log file mentions references such as “64”and “GT1”. Excitingly, it seems that work on the discrete Battlemage “Xe2″GPUs has already started on Linux.

It is anticipated that Intel will release two versions, the BMG-10 and BMG-21, of their Battlemage discrete GPUs. These models were recently mentioned in a shipping manifest and are currently undergoing pre-qualification. We have previously shared rumored details about the “Xe2″gaming GPUs for Battlemage, including potential features such as:

  • Next-Gen Memory Subsystem & Compression
  • Improved Ray Tracing
  • Micro-Architecture improvements
  • Next-Gen ML-based rendering tech
  • Latest DeepLink capabilities
  • Targeting Performance/Enthusiast Gaming

Recently, we caught a glimpse of Samsung’s next-gen Galaxy Book5 Pro design, featuring one of the first laptops to be equipped with an 8-core Lunar Lake CPU. These highly anticipated Intel CPUs are set to release in limited quantities later this year, with a more widespread availability expected in early 2025 after next year’s CES. Keep an eye out for further updates on the lineup in the upcoming months.
